Hail AGAIN, now!! Vernon

Feels like November
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

And I notice they are revising the warmer temps as we get closer to the promised days, by dropping them a few degrees :-X

https://www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna/3 ... ng-weekend
Despite cooler-than-normal temperatures across the Okanagan over the past few weeks, the Victoria Day long weekend is looking warm.

Friday will see a chance of thunder showers in the afternoon with a high of 18 C.

Showers are also in the forecast for Saturday with cloudy periods and a high of 16 C.

On Sunday and Monday, you may want to think about spending some time outside.

Sunday, Environment Canada is forecasting a high of 20 C with a mix of sun and cloud.

Monday will see sunshine with a high of 21 C.

The mild temperatures appear like they will be sticking around according to the long-range forecast.

From Tuesday to Friday of next week, temperatures are expected to hover around 21 to 24 C.

It should be mid 20s by middle of next week though.

BTW, Smithers was the warmest place in BC yesterday. It was also the 10th coldest in BC.

Also, Dease Lake was the coldest place in BC yesterday, but also the 12th warmest... so both were warmer and colder than Kelowna yesterday.

But way back on May 9th Kelowna did the same thing... warmest place in BC, though only 3rd warmest at the airport... and the airport was the 6th coldest in the province.

Apparently, it was pouring before I got up - now it is rather damp but pretty outside.

With a low of 3 in the forecast for tonight? :200:

We have had a raging La Nina in the pacific for the last year and it may hang on until next winter.
The Pacific North West has experienced the coolest April since satellite records began. May is shaping up to be the same. I would expect a cooler than average summer too.

So far it's the 8th coolest period in the past 122 years...

We could use the wet, though. I really don't want to deal with another fire season . . .

Princeton was -5 a week ago and Kelowna minus two or so. In the summer elevation has a lot more to do with temperature than latitude. That is why the coldest place in the United States between May 18th and September 15th is typically not in Alaska.

Burns Lake is a lot like Beaverdell or maybe more like McCulloch Lake in the summer.

What is this strange anomaly that I am seeing this morning? This great big bright ball in the sky. It is causing me to wince my eyes and it is emitting heat too. I haven't seen something quite like this in such a long time. So song ago that I can't remember when.
