That was quite the little storm! My nephew posted pics of how deep the water was at the Home Depot in Penticton, there was several inches on the ground . . .

Here’s a book explaining the El Niño Southen Oscillation and how it affect us. It is a big 560+ page read for any who dare, but oceans play an enormous natural part in global temperatures and storm creation. There is a closing statement.

What a PERFECT day!

Not too hot or too cold.

Sunny and bright.

Just a gentle breeze.

Birds are singing and chirping.

The plants are basking in the sun.

AND the lawn mower is broke.

Warmer week, more rain in store for the Okanagan

The month of May has brought unseasonably cool temperatures, but according to Environment Canada, warmer weather is on the way.

"It has been below normal for the entire province and including the Okanagan. We had this cold upper-low that was over the Pacific and was stalled and so that kept us into this exceptionally cool and wet pattern for this time of year," said meteorologist for Environment Canada Philippe-Alain Bergeron.

Monday will see a high of 22 C with a mix of sun and cloud.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 21 C.

Wednesday looks like the nicest day of the week with a high of 26 C and sunshine.

Thursday will stay warm with a high of 25 C and cloudy periods.

Rain is in the forecast for the weekend.

Friday and Saturday will see a high of 22 C with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
As I recall, June is when we get our summer precipitation. I'm hoping between the cooler wetter May and a regular June that we will have a proper summer, with no fires. Or at least, no smoke.

I had a moment of hope when I read Alan's post.. seems it has all changed now
Here is my weekly forecast
Monday - who knows?
Tuesday - will probably cloud over as soon as you head outside to work, then it will rain
Weds - because you can't be outdoors that day best day of the week
Thurs - wind gushing to 50 with small hail
Friday - you don't care ,
Sat - might be nice, might not be
Sun - you have to get ready for the work week, grab what ever outdoors time you can

Coldstream had a downpour, but downtown Vernon dry, overcast, breezy like October. June 1 tomorrow and no real spring enjoyed.

Yup, just like your pic up above on May 27, pounding rain and lightening.
I was in Costco when the rain hit and it sounded like a herd of cattle running across the roof.
Then I tried to leave, the exit was packed with people. No one wanted to venture out there.

Oh, I bought a propane tank while there. They couldn't fill it, too much lightening.

Haha.

I drove over to Home Depot, sat in their parking lot and watched the show. Besides, it was too damn wet to get out.
Meanwhile my wife was texting and screaming at me to get home and protect her from the storm. [icon_lol2.gif]

Sorry dear, not today.
