Haha.

I drove over to Home Depot, sat in their parking lot and watched the show. Besides, it was too damn wet to get out.
Meanwhile my wife was texting and screaming at me to get home and protect her from the storm. [icon_lol2.gif]

Sorry dear, not today.

The storm yesterday was pretty hit and miss (as thunderstorms often are).

0.5 mm in Penticton. 1.5 mm at Vernon. 2.3 mm at Summerland, and 7.2 mm at Kamloops... Also nothing in Kelowna (at the airport and UBCO).

Not sure if everyone knows this.
Go to weather link and click on Kelowna from the drop down menu.
Click on the lake level box.
Up pops a graph with 2021 and 2022 levels.
Under the graph you can click on 2020 levels which shows a graph of 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Neat!

Currently, we appear to be a little above 2019 (which was lower than 2018/2020; and way lower than 2017).

My creek is roaring this June.. glad they did stuff to ensure it wouldn't flood the area as it did once before. Way higher and faster than it was last year

Batten down the hatches and put on your water wings. The storm is headed your way.

We're getting pounded in Kamloops.
Heavy rain, Thunder, no sign of lightening but I'm sure it's out there.

I'm not often a fan of rain but this will help immensely with the drought we've been having.

Take a look at 2020 and 2021. Dry years, pretty well throughout the southern interior.

Storm watch cancelled - I wonder if it was in time. My friend was going to be going to a fishing derby up on Monte Lake this weekend, he was pretty sure it was going to be cancelled. He says, "That's a no-go if a storm is happening; an aluminium boat with a graphite rod on the water? Yeah, NOPE."

I can see blue skies out there now, and sun!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but they say this going to hit BC also:
Hydrologic Outlook
National Weather Service Spokane WA
129 PM PDT Tue Jun 7 2022

...RAIN AND SNOW MELT WILL RESULT IN RISES ON RIVERS AND SMALL
STREAMS IN THE CASCADES LATE THIS WEEK INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK...

An atmospheric river arrives on Thursday into the weekend bringing
periods of moderate rainfall and warm, windy conditions. Rain
amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible along the Cascade crest. In
addition, rivers fed by melting snow, from the Cascades and
mountains of British Columbia, will be running high this week. River
and small stream flooding is possible...including the Stehekin and
Okanogan Rivers.
Edited to add scary picture. :)

It's actually been quite dry in the rain shadow areas. Golden leads the way in dryness with just 6 mm of rain all last month.

Wow! We'll see how this plays out. They may cancel it tomorrow. They like playing with my emotions.
