According to Environment Canada, you may want to keep your rain jacket and umbrella handy this week.

A system that moved in Sunday night is bringing unsettled weather for several days.

"We are going to see a dramatic shift in the weather pattern from what we have recently seen throughout the Central Okanagan. We are heading towards a major shift beginning Sunday as a new weather system approaches B.C. from Oregon," said meteorologist Lisa Erven.

"We will see increasing cloud cover and periods of rain starting as early as Sunday night and into Monday and that rainfall will continue throughout the day on Tuesday and finally tapering off on Tuesday night."

Widespread rain amounts are in the forecast across the Interior.

"Over the Central Okanagan, we could see total amounts of anywhere from about 10 to 20 millimetres from that period of Monday through Tuesday night," Erven added.

Monday will see a high of 14 C with periods of rain.

Tuesday will reach a high of 13 C with showers.

Wednesday will warm up to a high of 19 C with cloudy periods.

Thursday will see a 60 per cent chance of showers with a high of 21 C.

Friday will see a high of 25 C and cloudy.

Saturday looks like the nicest day of the week with a high of 24 C with a mix of sun and cloud.

Kelowna has seen a total 30.5 millimetres of rain fall so far throughout the month of June.

"June is one of the wettest months of the year for Kelowna. Typically we see about 45.9 millimetres of rain so we are well on our way to that June total and we are only at June 12th here."

Erven says motorists should also anticipate snow over the next few days on mountain passes due to a drop in freezing levels.

"Monday night into Tuesday morning - this will be places like the Okanagan Connector between Merritt and Kelowna."
