Certain NDP MPs from western ridings might wake up and decide this has gone too far and cross the floor. There are a lot of npders cancelling their memberships , pinching their noses and taking out CPC memberships. Also reading that ndpers are talking ' leadership review asap' of jagmeet.

Really? I haven't heard that at all. In fact, many NDPers are pleased with Jagmeet as the NDP has finally got a foothold on power at the Federal level and getting some of their wish list items checked off.

Canadians are doubly blessed with hydra heads of the Sell-Out Singh/Lyin’-Flyin’ JT coalition /sarcasm off.

Does that mean he [JT] won’t be in the Canadian House of Commons answering vital questions about possible and even likely political interference by his administration in police operations?

Such as, whether he or any of his ministers or any or all of their aides and flunkies hinted, asked, summoned or ordered the RCMP commissioner, the increasingly luckless Brenda Lucki, to provide them with public relations ammunition for their high-profile gun-control legislation. And whether they did so by intruding into the investigation of the “deadliest rampage in Canadian history” — for government PR purposes!

Yes, it does mean that. It means, instead of hopping the few steps from Rideau Cottage to the Commons (which in any case he doesn’t seem to favour much these days) our Galahad of global warming, chief foe of the plastic picnic fork, will be eleven thousand, three hundred and ninety-four kilometres (11,394) from Ottawa when the (latest) storm breaks.

The boy sure likes to fly. Or flee. I don’t think in this case there’s really any difference.

In our sad and terribly eviscerated Parliament, however, Singh is the shield and flak jacket for Trudeau’s minority Liberals. A political Bobbsey twin for the PM he deplores on social media.

Just this week the NDP leader backed — as he backs all priority Liberal legislation — the move towards a “hybrid” virtual parliament for a whole extra year.

On the Lucki-Liberal firestorm however, Singh is ablaze with condemnation: “The idea that this government — that any government — would use this horrific act of mass murder to gain support for their gun policy is completely unacceptable. Not only is this inappropriate, it fuels cynicism about our democracy and the elected officials who participate in it.”

Wow. Now that’s opposition. That’s telling it like it is. That’s calling the garden implement a garden implement. No wonder Trudeau flew/fled to Rwanda…

With language like that I guess the NDP’s deal with the Liberals — the guarantee against confidence motions for the next three years — is off, the coalition kaput, history, one with the stone-cold Norwegian Blue parrot in the choir-invisible.

After all, how could Singh continue support for a government that “would use (an) horrific act of mass murder to gain support for (its) gun policy?” And after issuing so radiant a condemnation of that government, would not continuing to be its protector radically “fuel cynicism about our democracy?” And cynicism for “the elected officials (especially leaders of opposition) who participate in it?”

Are such words the occasion or prelude to Singh announcing he can no longer abide the NDP’s association with such a callous government? That he is cancelling the convenient deal?

Well, so far anyway, no. The great followup to this fearsome commination of the cynical Liberals is that the NDP “will (future tense) be calling for an inquiry into these disturbing allegations.” Now there’s cannon fire. There’s a blistering demand.

The Liberals really dread inquiries. As the man said, that’s why they shut them down so often. SNC-Lavalin, the WE Charity, Trudeau’s Aga Khan vacation scandal — all failed, shut down, or without consequence inquiries.

So what’s this feeble call for yet another one?

Lucki’s alleged interference with the police investigation of the Portapique massacre — the notes taken by an RCMP staff member are damming — is of the highest gravity and deepest political morality.

They not only deserve, they insist on something far more substantial than another limp call for a useless inquiry.

They call for Singh to remove himself and his party from the coalition — I know neither he nor Trudeau like the word, but that’s only because it’s the right one. As for a real inquiry, one with teeth, Singh could force one.

Bring on a confidence motion, Mr. Singh. Show some steel. Stop mewling on Twitter and start standing up for a functioning, zealous and honourable session of our House of Commons.

Sundre Pro Rodeo posted a statement from its parade committee on Facebook saying the float had not been approved and had joined the parade without passing through any registration.

The rodeo further offered its deepest apologies, noting the float had been entered as a tractor.

Some people who commented on the apology questioned the accusation of racism, noting the man in the turban and beard, who was not in blackface, was meant to depict federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh as a Liberal lapdog.

Sundre Pro Rodeo said in its posts that it "is committed to ensuring that entries will be reviewed in any future events" to prevent a similar incident from happening again.

"The Sundre Pro Rodeo does not approve the floats for the parade. That is entirely up to the parade committee! If we knew about that float, we would have NEVER approved it!" the organization's Facebook post read.

"Nobody had a clue that it had such profanity. So we are sorry."

George Chahal, a Liberal MP representing Calgary Skyview, condemned those responsible for what he called a "despicable display of racism."

"The Sikh community in Canada, of which I am a proud member, has a wide diversity of political perspectives," said a post on Chahal's Twitter account.

"More importantly, Sikhs have been a steadfast force for good in Alberta and across the country."

Jasraj Singh Hallan, a Conservative MP representing Calgary Forest Lawn, posted the float "should be condemned in strongest terms by all."

"This is absolutely disgusting. These kinds of acts have no place in Canada," he said in a Twitter post.

The Dashmesh Culture Centre, a Sikh community group in Calgary, said in a Twitter post that it welcomed representatives from the rodeo and parade committee to visit and learn about Sikhs.

"We need to have serious conversations and actions to stop these forms of racism," the centre wrote in a social media post.
