Now the evil sky genie has decided that he hates monarch butterflies. That guy is really messed up.
Well, the numbers are very accurate though right?

"The group estimates that the population of monarch butterflies in North America has declined between 22% and 72% over 10 years, depending on the measurement method."

The leftist media and activists must have bought their random emergency generator software from a bake sale or something. Monarch Butterflies are not endangered. Seems many media do not factcheck their stories.

On a brighter side of climate, fewer people are dying from climate related disasters. (Or weather)
Fewer people die from heat exhaustion, than cold temeratures. Climate or weather disasters are an increasingly smaller proportion of GDP, and fewer people are dying every year. Probably isnt as bad as leftist politicians and activists say.

Didn't we have this debunked discussion many moons ago? For sure the first chart went like.....it's because of the modern medicine, technology, food production etc etc that's decreasing deaths from droughts, disease, famines, weather, etc etc.

Extreme temperatures kill 5 million people a year with heat-related deaths rising, study finds

More than 5 million people die each year globally because of excessively hot or cold conditions, a 20-year study has found – and heat-related deaths are on the rise..........

Researchers analysed mortality and weather data from 750 locations in 43 countries between 2000 and 2019, and found the average daily temperature in these locations increased by 0.26C per decade.

The study found more people had died of cold than heat over the two-decade period. But heat-related deaths were increasing, while cold-linked deaths were dropping.

Monash University’s Prof Yuming Guo, one of the study’s lead researchers, said this trend would continue because of climate change, and total mortality rates may go up.

“In the future, cold-related mortality should continue to decrease, but because the heat-related mortality will continue to increase, that means there will be a break point,” Guo said.

He said in Europe there had already been an overall increase in the rate of deaths associated with temperatures......

The highest heat-related excess death rate was in eastern Europe, while sub-Saharan Africa had the highest mortality rate linked to cold temperatures.

Who would have thought the highest cold weather deaths would be from Africa?

I could say the same thing about right wing supporters. That LUCN assessment was done in 2021, this year they are 3 step beyond "least concern"
The migratory monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus plexippus), known for its spectacular annual journey of up to 4,000 kilometres across the Americas, has entered the IUCN Red List of Threatened SpeciesTM as Endangered, threatened by habitat destruction and climate change.

There are many populations of Monarchs all over the world. You'll have to wait for the next official assessment which is the official designation. The IUCN has taken the activist approach of calling a genetically identical subspecies group D. p. plexippus of migratory Monarchs endangered due to their specific & dangerous migratory path. Very few subspecies migrate and this subspecies is in danger of not migrating. They are considered a subspecies due to their behaviour, not genetics.

Monarchs, like coral, bounce back.

Just a side-note, wind turbines also kill bugs, including butterflies.

Don’t ya just wish that the peeps running around picking up and/or photographing all the wind-turbine killings would publish a study or two?

It’s been done. Here are a few studies. I suppose everything under the sun is funded. Not sure how many such studies there are. There are lots of studies on eating insects since that is what the UN wants everyone to do.

https://conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/ ... 20turbines

The problem with dead insects, is that it attracts all sorts of other insects and birds, etc. In Germany alone, a study estimates 1200 tons of insects a year perish.

https://docs.wind-watch.org/Interferen ... -Parks.pdf

Obviously wind turbines will destroy the planet long before warm weather will.

From link ^^^
3 HOW MANY INSECTS ARE KILLED BY WIND TURBINES?

Studies dealing with the question of how many insects are killed by wind turbines are difficult based on the reasons mentioned in the previous section. In a first pilot study conducted by the German Aerospace Center, Trieb and colleagues estimated for Germany's 30,000 onshore wind turbines that about 1,200 t of insect biomass is lost due to collisions with wind turbines during the plant growth period (April–October) (Trieb, 2018; Trieb, Gerz, & Geiger, 2018). Assuming an average wet mass of 1 mg for an insect (Hu et al., 2016), this equates to about 1.2 trillion insects killed per year for all onshore wind turbines in Germany, or 40 million insects killed annually by a single wind turbine in Germany. It is important to note here that these estimates are sensitive to deviations from model assumptions, and thus they certainly require further confirmation based on robust empirical data. For example, these estimates may vary largely across regions, depend on the composition of local insect assemblages and on the relevance of insect migration in a specific region. Nonetheless, the postulated numbers hint at the magnitude at which insect fatalities might occur at wind turbines in the temperate zone. It is likely that this situation is aggravated in regions with a higher abundance of aerial invertebrates compared with Germany
There’s lots more in the link.

What a farce this carbon reduction exercise is and what horrible damage and death to birds and insects. Pitiable.

I was looking in my back yard this morning and saw several Monarch butterflies flitting around the bushes. I went out to talk to them and told them that they being in plain sight was "not helping the alarmist narrative that they are rapidly dying off" but they didn't seem interested. I also wanted to ask them if they'd experienced between a "22 to 72% reduction" in their numbers over the past 10 years, but they also didn't seem interested in that either. No wonder they are dying off! They have no interest in hearing insane non-science-based theories predicting their own imminent demise due to an evil genie that lives in the sky. Stupid Monarchs.

How do you "fix" something that doesn't exist?

Do people understand that NOTHING is risk free? You can't eliminate risk, you can only reduce it. Don't you wish peeps could grasp that concept?
