Well saidmy5cents wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 2:55 pmI've asked before and I'll ask you again. Where are you getting this ?Mazdatruck wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 1:53 pm Totally false. Russia has said for the entire military operation they want Ukraine to determine their own future the only future that they can't determine is that of being hostile towards Russia.
Every speech Putin is gave about Ukraine in the last 8 months he is always said Ukraine can decide their own future he's just looking to remove the elements of the country that want to kill Russians.
You're spreading propaganda
I don't understand. How this account of what Putin apparently said, works...
Yes, of course this "military operation", certainly not war, because war involves.... OK,,, add that to the list how is this not a war ??
Do you agree Russia invaded Ukraine ? (ie, Ukraine didn't invade Russia)
So,,,, Russia has invaded Ukraine and what,,, "they (Ukraine) can decide their own future". OK they want to be left alone by Russia. How does that work ?
What is Russia going to do, go door to door looking for "the element" of the country that wants to kill Russians ?
Ah, cuz right now "the element" that wants to kill Russians is all Ukrainians. It's funny how that works, you invade a country, kill and torcher lots of innocent civilians, blow up hospitals, schools and residential housing, and surprise surprise, they don't like you,, funny how that happens.
So, Ukrainians have been conducting terrorist attacks in Russia ?Mazdatruck wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 1:53 pm A civilian that wants to kill Russians isn't innocent.
That's called a terrorist.
The US removes, kills, tortures and rapes terrorists. Omar Kharder was threatened with sexual molestation when he was 16 at Gitmo in Cuba. Male rape in US prisons is as common as assaults. Its a package deal
Well if the US threatened Khadr, a Canadian citizen, while he was in custody in Gitmo, that would certainly be a good reason for Russia to invade Ukraine. Huh ???
I would really like to know where you're getting this stuff....

Russia couldn’t leave Ukraine alone to choose Europe over them. Ukraine gets their freedom from Russia in the early 1990s after 300+ years of occupation.BC Landlord wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 3:15 pmSuch simplifications won't do anyone any justice. It's way more complicated than that. Ukrainian government has a lot of blood on its hands in this.
Between Tsars and then the communist party murdering countless millions of Ukrainians in that time, some people just don’t understand the hatred Ukraine has for Russia.

Re: Ukraine Russia war NEWS
As I said, it's not that simple. Russia already agreed to let them alone after the dissolution of the USSR, providing Ukraine wouldn't turn hostile, i.e. joining NATO. They agreed, and everything was nice, peaceful, and prosperous. Then, the Maidan coup came in 2014. This is when the new, openly Nazi and Russia-hating government took over. Not only that they aspired to join NATO shortly after, by also started terrorizing their own Russian-speaking population, and effectively engaged in ethnic cleansing on the state level. This is what led to what we are seeing today.GordonH wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 3:26 pmRussia couldn’t leave Ukraine alone to choose Europe over them.BC Landlord wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 3:15 pm

When the US invaded Iraq, they were not there to grab land.my5cents wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 2:55 pm Do you agree Russia invaded Ukraine ? (ie, Ukraine didn't invade Russia)

They were there to remove a threat to their country.
Ukraine has not stated they want to be "left alone by Russia" - they have stated that they want to become hostile towards Russia and point guns at them.
Russia will not accept that juts like you wont accept your neighbor pointing a gun at your house.
So, Ukrainians have been conducting terrorist attacks in Russia ?
Yes.
The car bomb that killed Daria Dugina was planted by Ukrainian terrorists in Moscow.
Ukraine at first denied the claim and said that "Ukraine didn't do that only terrorist states like Russia do that".
Then this week, the US put the blame on the car bomb on Ukraine.
Then this week, the Ukrainians used a car bomb to blow up a civilian bridge. The bridge bomb was not to completely disable the bridge - but to "send a message to Moscow" - which is what ISIS and Al Qaeda do.

Professor Sachs: "Ukraine Needs To Stop Bombing Nuclear Power Plant And Blaming It On Russia"Even Steven wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 2:24 pm I was told Russia is running out missiles back in March, May, August, last week and using washing machines for spare parts. So the morning strikes could not been them.
Has anyone entertained the idea Ukraine is striking their own cities to create a false flag cause or to paint Russia in a bad light?
Professor Jeffrey Sachs stated Sunday that the U.S. should be demanding that Ukraine stops shelling the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and blaming it on Russia, otherwise the world will face a nuclear armageddon on two fronts.
“It is almost surely Ukraine shelling the power plant and we can’t bring ourselves to express a simple truth and that hurts because they continue to shell the power plant with impunity,” Sachs further declared.
“We don’t know ever with our government what is really going on because they don’t tell the truth,” he further warned, adding “That just goes with the business of government, the way that it is viewed in Washington.”

It's hard to believe there are people who would go on about escaping communism and yet let themselves be so easily fooled by a totalitarian dictator such as Putin

Oh, I see. So complicated that you can't say "Yes" or "No" that Russia invaded Ukraine ? Boy, that's complicated. That's because I experienced communism with own skin, and I can tell you with confidence that nowadays Russia is nowhere near that.

You know, it just seems like you just want to be contrary.Mazdatruck wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 3:50 pm When the US invaded Iraq, they were not there to grab land.

(question) "Do you agree Russia invaded Ukraine ?" (answer) "When the US invaded Iraq, they were not there to grab land."
I guess you just don't want or can't answer the question.
My question regarding Ukraine conducting terrorist attacks in Russian was addressing your statement: "Every speech Putin is gave about Ukraine in the last 8 months he is always said Ukraine can decide their own future he's just looking to remove the elements of the country that want to kill Russians."Mazdatruck wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 3:50 pm Yes.

Ukraine at first denied the claim and said that "Ukraine didn't do that only terrorist states like Russia do that".
Then this week, the US put the blame on the car bomb on Ukraine.
In other words did Russia invade Ukraine in retaliation for terrorist attack BEFORE Russia invaded Ukraine. The car bomb and the bridge were after the Russian invasion,,, oh sorry the Russian "military operation" in Ukraine.
The car bomb appears to be directed at Aleksandr Dugin, the father of the woman killed, she was operating his vehicle. He is apparently a consultant of Putin's. Unlike Russia that has never bombed Ukraine hospitals, schools, private residents, or murdered or tortured anyone, Ukraine has killed an innocent civilian.
A civilian bridge ? Yikes, that's bad. Was never used for moving supplies or weapons for the Russian invaders ? Who was the civilian built the bridge (must have been real rich eh ?) ? So in war the combatants shouldn't destroy bridges ? Well unless they are military bridges, so like Bailey bridges or pontoon bridges ????Mazdatruck wrote: ↑Oct 10th, 2022, 3:50 pm Then this week, the Ukrainians used a car bomb to blow up a civilian bridge. Oh, I think if they could have blown the bridge to smithereens they would have. That would have sent a bigger msg to Russia. But hey, Russia is relatliating ! Bombing civilians. You do know that doesn't serve any military purpose, don't you ?
Military attacks during war, are not terrorist attacks, they can be "war crimes" if certain atrocities are committed,,, you know like the Russian soldier have done, wholesale. Comparing the attack on the bridge to ISIS or Al Qaeda is ridiculous.

Did Soviets invade a NATO member in 1962? And what was the US response?
