Sovereignty is a serious matter, it is the authority of a state to govern itself.

It is a very serious matter, indeed. But sovereignty and governing come with responsibilities as well. And one of the most important ones is not to abuse the power by oppressing and terrorizing your own population. Since 2014, Ukraine has been failing on that miserably.

Applying noble deeds that Putin was just protecting "his" people is just plain wrong. The annexation of Crimea was about getting access to a warm water port. This all about the money and power. The recent invasion of Ukraine again is about money and trying to get ahold of the resources and industrial capacity of Eastern Ukraine.

That being said the west and the American don't have altruistic motives either. The west saw another opportunity to stick it to a foe who has been messing with elections and stirring up divisive sentiment in the western countries. Tossing a few billions at the Ukraines to crush Russia economically seems pretty cheap in the long term.

Russia already had access to warm water port in Crimea. Sevastopol is a major Russian naval base, and it's been in Russian hands ever since. And why would resources uber-rich Russia go after such a small and resources not so rich region such as Donbas? It doesn't make any sense.

Hmmm, .. by trains, trucks, and some by air, like any landlocked country would do, I guess. Why does it matter? And speaking of freight ports, Russia already has at least two major ports in the area, Rostov and Novorossiysk. No need to "invade" anything for that.
