Re: Whatcha listenin' to right now?
When he was a child, his dad went to prison and then his mom abandoned him. So he grew up in the streets of Manila and he said that he feels sad he would sing to make himself happy. When he became an adult, he wanted to find his parents who abandoned him. He had the idea of joining the talent show "The Philippines got Talent" with the main purpose of finding his parents. As a contestant in the show, there became a nationwide search for his parents. In the show's finale, he found his parents who attended the show on which he won. Now that he is famous, he remains a very humble man.
Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Saw him in the 90s at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts at the outdoor amphitheater (at night,) he had a great voice and I thoroughly enjoyed his performance.nucksRnum1 wrote: ↑Nov 7th, 2022, 4:48 pm

I believe that is the reason he has yet to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.nucksRnum1 wrote: ↑Nov 7th, 2022, 4:48 pm Amazing how successful he was in covering everyone else's songs and hardly any of his own.

Re: Whatcha listenin' to right now?
I have given up on this Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame..........which has truly turned into a plain old music hall of fame. WHY the "Guess Who" have not been inducted is unbelievable.......the Guess Who get plenty of play on Sirius radio still TODAY yet ignored 100% by the powers to be. Why do "rap" musicians get in ??????........why does Dolly Parton get in ????? (and she turned them down BUT the R&R Hall of Fame ignored her request).
Something STINKS with this direction the H of F has taken..........they are scrapping the barrel to induct people that SHOULD NOT NOW OR EVER BE IN THE "R & R H of F" when too many TRUE rock and roll people and bands are being ignored.

Inducted along with Dolly Parton were Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie and Carly Simon.
