Of the current 43 votes here, the combined votes for "made it better" and "had no impact" are only 35%.

35% is below the 50% threshold.

FAIL.
And almost everyone on here who voted against Basran are looking at a confirmation bias. The people most likely to respond to this little vote are people already looking at the world through a predisposed bias. Every hear of confirmation bias and why polls are so unreliable?
Only interested in the numbers.

You are making judgments about the users of Castanet.

After 46 unique votes, we see previous mayor Basran posts a 35% approval rating for his 8yrs of work.

Approval rating is based on combined votes for "Made it Better" and "Had No Impact"

If 50% is a pass, the numbers here currently indicate Basran FAILED.

8 years is a long time to spend failing your city.

if he had a higher approval rating he would still be mayor. the people decided they didnt like the job he was doing . the official poll is the ballot box and the people spoke loud and clear

People that do online polls like this are susceptible to confirmation bias. Meaning, they are drawn to issues they feel passionate about that are shared with like minded individuals. It's why polling is referred to as "scientific polling" by reputable pollsters. They take as much bias out of their polling as possible when conducting surveys. And, the sample size benchmark is typically 1000 respondents that are randomized in selection.

Wonder if this pole does get 1,000 votes total and the results are still just a 35% approval rating.

Highly doubt it. Castanet tends to be right leaning, at least with what seems to be most of their readers. Don't find a whole lot of folks on here that also tend to listen to, and read CBC.

You're probably right.

"Don't come to Kelowna unless you're vaccinated", Kelowna mayor says amid COVID-19 outbreak

Doctors and nurses too?

That explains it.

Interior Health or ReMax?

I wonder who will hire him first.

I'm not shocked what so ever. Have to give him his day on court....

I can say he was chasing waitresses in the Cactus Club two months ago. :130:

Do you think his FAILING approval rating has anything to do with his Sex Assault Charge?

Maybe some Kelowna residents were aware of this news before the Assault charge was made public.
