Nah, that wasn't a test of the drones, that was a test of the new EW environment they can create. It wasn't the drone strikes being counted; it was the air defense resources the Russians popped off at ghosts they were counting. The bombers that got damaged was just a bonus.

If we believe Russia, a couple old soviet slugs from the 70's, spent close to an hour in the air, one of them traveled 600 km's across Russian airspace and hit a strategic bomber base, damaging at least 100 million dollars' worth of strategic bombers. We don't have any idea what happened at Engels 2 and likely won't until weather allows for a satellite shot. It was a much larger blast. Meanwhile, Russian Air Defense was shooting at ghosts from Belgorod to Moscow.

Not a single second of intercept footage has been shared.

Sometimes, when people tell you what they are going to do, it's actually true, and you can look back on the results and believe them.

How are they going to be prepared next time? They've got a lot of things to figure out. How did Ukraine take out 85% of their missiles today? How many more times can they spend 10's if not 100's of millions of dollars to take out a single transformer, a few private houses and create a couple holes in the ground?

Bigger than that... what are they all going to do when the bubble pops and they have to come to terms with the fact that Putin and his gangsters have been stealing everything that isn't nailed down for close to 30 years? Mark my words, that day is coming.

Maybe your right though, Russia successfully destroyed two drones by skillfully placing strategic heavy bombers precisely at the spot the drones had as targets - exactly as they had planned. Brilliant - no right-thinking person would have ever anticipated that.

Latest on yesterday's attack on two airbases. Looks like at Engels 2;

2 x Tu 95's - burned down to the ground. One Tu 95 damaged and not in flying conditon.

At Ryazan;

One Tu -22 damaged and not in flying condition.

Overall, 10% less traffic on Bear Net. Not a bad day's work.

Russia now has more men, tanks, artillery, aircraft, resources all across the front. Only question is what theyll do with it, if and when.

Yeah, okay. If you look at the December 5th exchange, Russia launched 70 missiles and 10 hit. A 85% successful interdiction on the part of Ukrainian air defense. Or, 15% successful strike on the part of the Russians. Ukraine launched two drones, had a 100% strike. Or, if it helps you understand things better, Russia had a 0% interdiction success rate.

Optics? Yeah, there were some. Deuce went for a drive across the Crimean bridge and Russian media showed clips of Chechen fighters in Bakhmut. Of course, we have to ignore the fact they were Chechens fighting on the side of Ukraine and not the Kadyrov TikTok brigade fighting for Russia.

As for this great Russian assault you see coming... I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. They will likely, one day break through in Bakhmut, but that's only because they are using people they see as sub-human and don't care about the losses they are taking. Even if they do, they'll simply be pinned down and remain as cannon fodder in the bombed out remains of the city.
