At the same time I think if there is a accusation like this its time to also name the accuser. Guy or Girl. doesnt matter. Especially after the Depp/Heard thing. I mean it was high profile so everyone knew everything and then at the end, her accusations were found baseless.

But in private cases like this the accused is the one that is dragged into the mud without an actual finalized trial. And when the accused actually didnt do it...the accuser is never revealed.

A columnist on a competitor’s website wrote several weeks ago that he was hearing from within the walls of city hall about a scandal that was about to break.

Looks like whatever he was hearing has come true,

Innocent until proven guilty, but regardless, his goose is fully cooked. Allegations like this follow you for a long time.

And if found guilty, a perfect example of believing your own hype and how hubris will eventually destroy you.

Whether you liked him personally, or liked what he did as mayor, this is a spectacular fall. His name isn’t going to be wortth in this town anymore.

If you claim to be sexually assaulted, it’s not like you march into the police station, point your finger at someone and they get arrested and charged.

There’s an investigation, police recommend charges after the investigation, and the prosecution service decides to charge based on the evidence and the likelihood of conviction.

Until tried in court he is innocent. However, the system has determined there is enough to proceed to trial. Doesn’t sound like this is a nothing burger meant to get even with him.

I do hope if it was an office victim they do a thorough investigation. I find sometimes there are others who can provide evidence to support the victims allegations as to the character of the accused by their own experiences.

There appears enough evidence to support a charge. The charge has to be read in court, it is then it will be determined if a trial is necessary.....

As to your "woke" assault, the criminal code defines numerous sexual assaults, they arent just all lumped together as one offense.

Therefore the laws regarding sexual assault have over the years been broadened. Totally agree with you.
