Re: Kelowna Free Thinker's Group?
I wonder why, it seems to me that a large enough population of people in Kelowna would attend.

Re: Kelowna Free Thinker's Group?
lol I am new here. I moved here about 3 years ago and in that time have met 100's of people who do not go to church or subscribe to a religion. Actually i have only met a handful of religious people, Some of which are members of the LDS church who frequently come by my home for a chat, others are coworkers and neighbors. I agree that the type of people who would attend such a group would be in the minority but religion is the majority everywhere in the world with the exception of very few places. I honestly do think a group of 10-20 people with an interest in a group like that forming could be found in kelowna quite easily.

I imagine it would be easy enough to form, it would just need a willing coffee shop or public place/park who would allow a biweekly gathering to take place for attendees to discuss religion, philosophy, politics, and current advances in science and culture. I would love to meet and talk to other people from the area and have intellectual conversations and debates.

Is a free thinker someone who doesn't charge to use his neurons? If not, please provide a definition.
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

Re: Kelowna Free Thinker's Group?
lol I personally would define a freethinker as someone who uses logic and a naturally inquisitive train of thought to answer questions for him/her self. Not just on religion, but all things that have an impact on our lives. Ironically they do tend to use their own neurons free of charge.
