The woke cancel culture is the product of the deep roots the marxists have developed since WW2.
It starts with socialism, but to gain full power by way of democracy, the weakest in society must be made relative and given what they can't achieve themselves, which is a unearned income for their vote. This creates dependency that the taxpayers are on the hook for.
In the last 50 years the marxists brains in the western world, example PET, have used identity politics to create social issues, justifying funding, establish bureaucracies to "help" the created groups to be totally dependent on government handouts and become enslaved in the cult so they can be further brainwashed, so they too become creators of issues needing taxpayers funding.
The victim now become the social experts the cult needs to create more government funded payroll positions, expanding the dependency model. The goal is to have the majority of paycheck receivers, dependent on a government check for their survival and force them all to adhere to the cult ideology and doctrine for continue to receive their survival check from the government.
Canada is now in the final stages of such reality, because if you don't drink the cult's Kool-Aid, you will be cut and publicly shamed and lose your privileges by seizing your bank accounts, cancel your DL & vehicle insurance and once the cult take over is finalized, confiscate all of your belongings. Look no further than china, russia, NK, venezuela, cuba or any other totalitarian regime. Those who benefitted from the identity game and thought they won, don't jump to high, because in a totalitarian system there is no room for social issues, those will end up in slave camps, only to realize then the real resolve of identity politics, is slavery.

When is enough, enough?
Mistake after bumbling mistake Merrifield cannot seem to keep her fingers off her phone, quoting anti-LGBTQ and misogynistic 'doctor' Jordan Peterson. This is WHILE she holds the portfolio of Liberal critic for Gender Equality and Inclusion!! She either doesn't 'get it' or she is utterly incompetent as a political leader. One day I'm reading about how her forecast for the next year is full of doom and gloom, not offering any suggestions as to how to improve the quality of life for residents of her consistency. And today she's making headlines quoting a misogynistic, anti-LGBTQ proponent. Not to mention her tone of supporting, "..a lot of trans-exclusionary activists. She retracted a Twitter-like about some laws that had changed in the U.S. that were discriminatory toward trans people."

There is something truly offensive about someone who takes a position of power and influence in public office to shine a negative light on some of our most vulnerable citizens. Renee, you should be ashamed of yourself and you really need to smarten up with your Twitter engagement. Just because you don't understand the gravity of what your quote might mean to others isn't as you called it, "...nothing more than someone trying to make something of an issue that it simply is not." It truly shows that you either don't support the LGBTQ community, or you're too dumb to understand it, my thoughts are a bit of both.

If the BC Liberals and Kevin Falcan had any integrity, they would remove Merrifield as critic for Gender Equality and Inclusion ASAP, before she can anything up any further. She's been a slow-moving car wreck for the past 2.5 years. I ask the public, what has Merrifield done to better our community in these last 2.5 years other than negativity and controversy?

It's sad that you don't understand what Jordan Peterson is saying because you're so filled with hate you don't take the time to understand what he is saying and you want to throw labels on people that you know nothing about.. Mr Peterson has helped more people than anybody else in this world with his common sense and honest and open dialogue.

Wow, so there is a small glimmer of intelligence and hope for leftist parties. Miracles will never cease? Jordan Peterson is a smart psychologist/philosopher who puts a number of common internet philosophers to shame. I would agree with him in terms of compelled speech, use of prenouns, and more. There is no reason to can Merrifield. She must have hit a narrative-nerve somewhere. The fact others lead with attacks rather than a conversation tells they are not worthy of leadership.
