Re: Transgendered Woman Upset by Gym's Policy
I'm not a woman. Was born male and I remain male. I suppose my gender and sex are none of your business, but since you seem to genuine, I shared.gardengirl wrote: ↑Jan 23rd, 2023, 2:51 pm I would like to know if you are a WOMAN. I guess it is now necessary to specify CISGENDER woman.
Oh, you probably don't have to apologize. You can think whatever you want about Kaitlyn Jenner. I doubt she reads these forums. If you had never heard of her, and she walked into your gym, would you just walk over and demand management kick her out because she looks too manly? like, somehow you know that she was born a man. What if you were wrong? What if the woman was born a woman but just has some mascunline features?gardengirl wrote: ↑Jan 23rd, 2023, 2:51 pm You claim that people wouldn't know if someone has completely transitioned. Sorry, Bruce Jenner still looks like a man.
Are you telling me though, that in all your years on this earth, that you have with %100 accuracy, been able to tell the birthsex of someone and know whether they're transgendered? If so, then you're just way better at it than me.
Is this relevant? And by the way, why do you insist on calling her Bruce/Caitlyn? I mean, I don't know her at all, but I suspect that as a trans woman, she goes by Caitlyn. Or is it that you know that full well, but refuse to acknowledge her name preference? Does it somehow take something away from you if you just call her by her preferred name?gardengirl wrote: ↑Jan 23rd, 2023, 2:51 pm (On a side note: Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner does not believe that trans women should compete in women's sports.)
Cool. So it turns out we agree with the complainant. He is a trans woman, meaning, yes, he was born male and likely still has the junk to prove it. I haven't met a trans woman yet who wants to be called a MAN. Have you ? Presuming that you haven't, why do you think it's appropriate?gardengirl wrote: ↑Jan 23rd, 2023, 2:51 pm Regardless, the person in this story is clearly a MAN. Anyone can see that.
Well aware of what an all womans gym is. It's amazing the assumptions you, and others here, keep demonstrating. It's like you have zero interest in even entertaining a concept that goes against your own personal thoughts.gardengirl wrote: ↑Jan 23rd, 2023, 2:51 pm This private business has a business model to serve women. They got a licence for that.
They have done nothing wrong.
They have a client base of women who go there to work out with women.
I don't care about womans gyms. I don't care about womans gyms licensing. I don't care about their client base or whether these woman work out who they like to work out with.
IF this type of discrimination is ok with you, then lets talk about going back to a time when black people weren't allowed in "private businesses". Now, defend that. Please. Tell me how unsafe you would feel in a private business if a black person came in ? How these private businesses should be able to discriminate based on color.
Now, if that concept is as offensive to you as it is to me, maybe, just maybe, you'll understand why I'm not ok with gyms discriminating against people based on their birthsex.

Like the respect shown in a few threads that have been locked recently about drag queens in which several members accused them of being sick pedophiles who groom children... and then followed it up by saying that those of us who support these folks should never be allowed near children.gardengirl wrote: ↑Jan 23rd, 2023, 2:39 pm People are free to choose to identify as whatever they want. It that the respect you're talking about?

It's rewarding.YzzzR1 wrote: ↑Jan 22nd, 2023, 3:52 am It must be extremely exhausting having ones opinions being so completely influenced by the ever expanding warm tummy 'woke' agenda. Judging by some of the responses here, questioning anything coming from the progressive 'program' would never enter their soft SJW minds.
It's sad that certain left-wing segments of society never developed independent thought or the the ability to question anything but conservative or right-wing values. Although it is very funny and entertaining to observe.
Is it exhausting being part of the majority who wants to tell trans people that they aren't who they think they are? That you know better about their sex than they do? What bathrooms they should be allowed to pee in and where they will go after they die? (which is far too often a self inflicted injury following a life of pain and self hate)
It only takes compassion to want to help them. Doing nothing is the perpetuation contempt and malice towards a population of people for who they are.
Couple of things to point out:
1) Trans Suicide rates before and after sex change operations don't vary much at all. Given this data, it can be concluded that performing the sex change operation doesn't in fact treat the condition.
2) You say you want to help them but also acknowledge that they are suffering from a very serious mental illness.
What mental illness is treated by going along with their delusions and not treating the condition?
3) Doing nothing doesn't perpetuate contempt of anything other than I simply don't care. We all got problems we need to deal with and given the trans group make up less than 1% of our population, it doesnt really warrant the attention anyone is giving them.

enough about stuff like this and the time we're being influenced to think it's important . This person didn't get their way and then decided to trash the Business by going to the media, where's the love, acceptance and RIGHTS from this Trans person that they are demanding to have for themselves and not for others ? We're lucky that people still want to own small businesses yet alone catering to some ridiculous complaint

The LGBTQ activists are a little busy right now fighting other big fights.
If J. Trudeau and his followers could at least come to an agreed upon stance, like they seem to be pushing, that their is no such thing as a natural man or women, anymore, these people would not be effected by music, posters, words, advertising, etc. etc.
Come on JT, get some balls and make a decision. Oop's
Aretha Franklin hit deemed ‘offensive’ by trans activists.
Now, 55 years after the single was released, it is being criticized by LGBTQ activists who have labeled the throaty ballad “offensive,” with one organization accusing it of helping to feed harmful anti-transgender stereotypes.
“There is no such thing as a ‘natural’ woman,” it continued. “This song has helped inspire acts of harm against transgender women. TCMA is requesting it is removed from Spotify & Apple Music.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_equivalenceA false equivalence or false equivalency is an informal fallacy in which an equivalence is drawn between two subjects based on flawed or false reasoning. This fallacy is categorized as a fallacy of inconsistency.[1] Colloquially, a false equivalence is often called "comparing apples and oranges."
Characteristics
This fallacy is committed when one shared trait between two subjects is assumed to show equivalence, especially in order of magnitude, when equivalence is not necessarily the logical result.[2] False equivalence is a common result when an anecdotal similarity is pointed out as equal, but the claim of equivalence does not bear scrutiny because the similarity is based on oversimplification or ignorance of additional factors. The pattern of the fallacy is often as such:
If A is the set containing c and d, and B is the set containing d and d, then since they both contain d, A and B are equal.
In an even more fallacious version, "d" is not required to exist in both sets; merely a similarity of two items d_1 in set A and d_2 in set B is cited to assert equivalence among the sets.[3]
There's no such thing as gay rights, minority rights, trans rights or women's rights.
There are only individual rights. Either we all have the same rights, or we're just groups of special interests fighting for preferential treatment.

Their most recent tweet… https://mobile.twitter.com/TransMindful ... 9311295489The person behind a Twitter account that claimed a classic Aretha Frankln song is offensive to trans people confirmed Monday it was a joke.
"This is a parody account," the user, who did not provide his or her real name, told iHeartRadio.ca via direct message. "Never imagined anyone would take it seriously lol."
The individual said it was intended as a commentary on "woke" culture and "media stupidity." They added: "Not ONE media outlet contacted me prior to reporting this s**t lol."
The word "PARODY" was subsequently added to the account bio.
The actual point of that account is that they believe the woke movement is indistinguishable from satire. I’d suggest that it also shows the intolerant and hateful part of the right will believe anything they see without questioning it at all as long as it suits their narrative.I am STUNNED that not a single media outlet who reported on the Aretha Franklin tweet even ATTEMPTED to contact this account for comment.
Based on the sheer ridiculousness of the content on this page, how could JOURNALISTS not comprehend that this is parody/satire.
