Do you realize that the Westjet crew asked him to speak? And that Westjet management had okayed it?

Quite being so deliberately obtuse.
Speaking in Vancouver on Thursday, Poilievre said the cabin crew asked him to speak multiple times on that flight, and the union should be the one apologizing.

"I think that the union should apologize for trying to silence freedom of speech. The crew invited me to give a speech and they did that multiple times," Poilievre said.

"And I think it's because people who work on airplanes, people who work in restaurants, people who work building things love my message."

snip

WestJet's CEO said Wednesday that the flight was specifically added to the schedule because of extra demand related to the convention and that most of the passengers were Conservative delegates.

Still, he also said they'd revisit the policy.

"The leader of the party was given the opportunity to greet delegates onboard (which is not unusual), but this was not a political endorsement nor should it be interpreted as such," Alexis von Hoensbroech wrote in his own statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

For context, how much would any of you enjoy hopping a flight and being forced to be exposed to something you vehemently agree with? That is what a captive audience is.
What a bonus that would be. I vehemently agree with Pierre P’s-messages and I’d be delighted to have him speak on my Westjet flights.

Just think of all the smiling passenger faces in vehemently agreeing with him. Nirvana.

This is what PP's first housing plan looks lke. What do you think?

Instead of offering help to the municipailties, he is threatening to cut off their funding if they don't increase their housing supplies by 15% per year on their own. Wow. Too bad he is not penalizing conservative lead provinces for their failure to do anything about it. What else could we expect from someone who has never held a job outside the Reform/Alliance/Con umbrella.

At least Trudeau is offering GST rebates to help with this problem. Now, it would be even better if the provinces did the same with their PST.

404 page not found.

The current government has promised money and action again and again and exactly zero houses were built in 8 years. I think another plan is fair to try at this point.

I vehemently agree with Mr Poilievre's politics of inclusion too!

It's so refreshing after 8 long years of infighting among Canadians that Trudeau purposely sparked.

The Big Tent pitched by Mr Poilievre is attracting people from all walks of life. I'm looking forward to the end of Justin's disgusting fracturing of Canada.

No you weren't.

You were here posting on Castanet.
News to me that it’s impossible to use internet on a plane.

West Jet is supposed to be non-partisan. Political hacks like the non-inclusive PP propagating their propaganda on f commercial flights isn’t cool

PP using the intercom on a flight to share any type of message is wrong on so many levels.
And...you don't look like a massive hypocrite at all here....nope....

Imagine if you are boarding a public transit train and an imbecilic idiot grabs the mike like as happened in the above video. And imagine that not ONE celebrity or Liberal supporter who is currently pearl clutching like fools over PP talking on an intercom on a WJ flight said one word about how inappropriate it was to have said imbecile speak on the intercom on a public transit train.

HYPOCRITE MUCH???? Such stupidity - amazing stupidity even.
Regardless if it was a flight filled with mostly supporters; not all were.
Yes, there might have been a few really stupid people on the plane, but oh noes!! They had to listen to a 45 second intercom discussion.
He had a captive audience that didn't have a choice to, "opt out" of listening to him
Sure they did. It's very easy to "opt out" of listening to things, just as I would have "opted out" of listening to imbecile Justin on the public train intercom.
It put West Jet, a western success story in terms of business, especially in the airline industry, in a very difficult position of having to either endorse him in that they thought it was ok for him to do that, or distance themselves from it. Either way? They upset supporters of either party.
No, all they "upset" was really really stupid people.
Worse? The fact that he is claiming he wants an apology from the flight attendant's union for speaking out about this blatantly obvious political maneuver tells you all you need to know about it being merely a stunt of amateurish proportion.
And he deserves an apology. The CUPE idiot aka Notley's brain-dead husband looks like a giant fool here. He totally overstepped just to play stupid politics. What a bonehead. The NDP just plain sucks.
For context, how much would any of you enjoy hopping a flight and being forced to be exposed to something you vehemently agree with? That is what a captive audience is.
Yup - everyone with a brain vehemently agrees with PP, and thinks the Liberals and NDP are total garbage.

Where's the union brass' comments on Trudeau's commandeering of that intercom?

Unless you were a delegate to the Conservative convention, you weren't.

But if you were a delegate, welcome to the party that respects all people!

Also before you get upset about Pierre speaking on the plane, this flight was specifically added by
@WestJet for their own customers attending convention so we could get home. It was all delegates.

The ctv article as well as WestJet's own statements have all related that the plane was NOT entirely full of delegates

It was a commercial flight that anyone could book.

WestJet which is supposed to be non partisan allowed a political speech. They absolutely deserve backlash for this
