The majority of voters were against rainbow advertising on public land.

Absolutely nuts that 2.4% of population can have this kind of impact on society....

Even more amusing when BC castanetters get their pigtails in a knot because an Alberta community with common sense says no to Fascist Liberal $cience

Where's the Virtue Signal Convoy occupying Edmonton Legislature building?
Modern Monetary Theory

Today's Fascist Liberal $cience stealing money from future generations in effort to buy more votes - just easy Macro 101 stuff.

Very modern, very fascist, yet very virtuous.

A Liberal Sandwich they call it.

Is white pride prejudice ?
Is straight pride Prejudice ?
Is male pride prejudice ?

If you believe any of the above are prejudice, you have to explain not only to me, but to yourself.

Are we all equal, or are some people more equal than others ?

And refuse to explain why they think it's "just prejudice" to not allow advertising for select groups in public places, afraid to dig a hole too deep to escape.

There's a lot of territory between "advertising" and recognition. The rainbow symbols are about more than just pride, they're about recognizing groups that have been persecuted for sexual orientation that do not fit other peoples' idea of "normal". Bylaws that target those symbols specifically are just another form of that persecution. You will not convince me that they come from any place but hate and intolerance.

The community then had a block party to celebrate their inclusivity. I think that has more of an impact than a crosswalk. That actually brings people together. Forms friendships, creates relationships and connections. A crosswalk does none of that.
But…
If crosswalks and flags are so important to acceptance then why are we not doing them for all the minorities that face racial discrimination in this country? Every town could have poles put up and if you were a minority of less than a certain percentage then a flag could be put up to represent you and a crosswalk could be done. That would help make all those visible minorities feel welcome and safe and help end racism. We should also do that for all the mentally disabled people who are constantly discriminated against.
I don’t believe in being treating anyone disrespectfully. When I go into public I treat everyone the same unless they treat me in a disrespectful way. If we want to provide special treatment to one, why not all?

Do the bylaws target rainbow symbols specifically? If not, it's not a form of persecution. Let us know please.

The rainbow sidewalks and flags are at the centre of every discussion, so yes, it is a targeted campaign. Having enough vagueness written into the bylaw to make it seem non-specific is just legal butt-covering. It's just the way it rolls when the religious right gets a little full of itself, like what is going on in rural Alberta as we speak.

Considering a petition was started after the rainbow crosswalk was put in place I don’t know what else to call it.

Crosswalks are specifically painted to mark pedestrian crossings. I'd call it that. Also, stop signs are painted red.
