Don't get it. 2.6 cm is 26mm just seems an odd way to put it

Something about 1 cm of snow is equiv to 1 mm of rain due to snow having air space between flakes

The average in Vancouver is 10:1.

For the BC interior it's more like 13:1. This past storm was closer to 20:1. Very flüffy!

There was a brief blizzard in Rutland yesterday, but it didn't stick. More snow predicted for today.

It may be cold but I am loving this sunshine. And my tulips don't seem to be suffering at all. I have winter aconite, snowdrops and crocuses blooming, even!

There's already talk of planting peas but I would believe that would be best left for the end of March.

This minus 6 cold snap is less than perfect for me!

I've usually planted the bulbs in the fall. I'm not sure about spring planting though. It might work.
I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.

Our japanese gardners , when i worked at potter distillers used to dig up the bulbs, put them inside in a dry place, then replant when the frost came out of the ground

^^^ hey, thank you for that.

I suspect we should, at least I'd like to see, the frost out by the end of the month.

I'll perhaps pop down and have a look-see today what's available, if anything.

Sorry mods, wrong thread :138:

Not really practical to plant tulips and daffs now.Snowdrops and crocus are starting to bloom
Bulbs require 6 weeks of cold weather to start their growing.
Bulbs growing now and when it warms; let them die back.(the green stuff and nourishment for next year, or dig up keep cool in soil, and when the green dies store in cool place, covered with some peat moss, away from summer heat.
Look in the store now for summer bulbs/corms etc...dahlias for one.
