Hiking with the dogs up on 3 blind mice trails this afternoon. Buttercups starting to show....
The better half was ecstatic.

The Greenery is open - I am so far resisting the urge to wander through and breathe deeply. That in itself isn't a bad thing, but the fact that I very probably could not leave without buying something, is.
I haven't failed until I quit.

I will not buy too much this year.
kidding.
But I do intend to buy up five or so Salvia plants as I discovered they do well in wheelbarrows and attact hummingbirds.

Regardless of who "wins" an election, they always are up against a Silent Elite. Do you believe the extreme poor who voted for Trump ever thought their non-profit support would be slashed right out from under them?

Re: Gardens 2024: Flowers/Vegetables/Bushes/Trees
Not really, but I did start prepping large pots for peppers.
And well, maybe sort of? Buddy was over and he saw me prepping some seeds for saving from tomatoes I had bought (nice tomatoes). He wondered why I was doing that - I told him so you can start some for me

He said his mom used to just squeeze tomatoes into the garden and they would sprout as they would. So, when I was making Greek salad I took the drainings (I drain them so the salad lasts longer, just put a bowl under the colander) and dropped them into the garden. We shall see.
Maybe on the weekend I will start clearing things out of the garden and getting the beds ready for planting.
I haven't failed until I quit.

Put some mini daffs in as they were blooming in my shop.
Good cover of mulch thinking that might help if it gets too cold...
Wondering if the deer or cold gets them first..

I seem to remember someone saying that daffs were safe from deer while tulips are not
I wonder why?
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Give it a try Cats. Maybe skunks have similar taste buds to deer.
I had issues with deer eating my tulips, but just before the flowers burst open, never afterwards. I would put tomato cages over them. That worked.

Depends on where you're located. Weather channel says down to -3 a couple of nights. So could be iffy.
Definitely no pressure on the hose at night if you do. (speaking from experience camping)
It's hard to win an argument with a smart person but damn near impossible with a stupid one!

For once I have/had the opposite problem. My wife keeps asking if I'm feeling alright.Lady tehMa wrote: ↑Mar 19th, 2024, 8:55 pm I'm having trouble getting motivated to do garden bed clean up this year :/
Try half of one bed and if the malaise still persists, there is netflix.
