“Though voters are more likely to say the provincial government has done a poor job on key issues identified as priorities — such as climate change, health care, street crime, cost of living, and housing affordability — the NDP remains the top pick to continue governing. (my emphasis)

“Eby’s approval is highest in the Metro Vancouver region, at 54 per cent, but he maintains 41 per cent support in the Lower Mainland/ Fraser Valley and 49 per cent on the Island and North Coast. Falcon is more consistent across the province, with approval ratings between 19 to 25 per cent in all areas, while Rustad has an approval rating low of 16 per cent in Metro Vancouver but a 33 per cent high in the Interior and the North.”

What idiot, knowing all of the horrible and real (bad) things going on in BC, including Eby's fentanyl genocide, cares at all about the stupid man made climate change fairy tale? Seriously, do you not care about your fellow man at all? So selfish to even waste one brain cell worrying about hoaxes like that.

When it comes to voting day, many voters tend look seriously at issues, and what the different parties are actually proposing to deal with those issues. At that point campaigns based on criticism and attacks on their opponents tend to lose a lot of steam. We've watched that happen for the last three elections, where the polls leading up to the election didn't reflect what actually happened.

With our provincial election coming up near the end of "fire season", the severity of that season will play a big part, and campaigns that come up light on environmental responsibility may suffer if this years wildfires live up to the forecasts.

The forecast of doom and gloom while I look out my window at the rain gauge that shows two inches of rain in the last week . The forecasters can’t get 12 hours of weather information correct and they still get paid . Imagine that , almost like they are told what to predict months down the road .

Let’s make arson in our forests an election issue …

There has to be ‘planning’ in all of the propaganda … a good example of that was on the communist broadcasting corporation/and corus entertainments weather reports pretending to be ‘news’. In the first breath they say rainfall is helping with the current forest fires and then suck and blow with the ‘but’ arid conditions point to more fires than ever … not a single mention about the 90% or whatever fires started by arson, the lack of investigations into those acts of arson nor the holding of the arsonists accountable ….it was the same dog and pony show with the governments COVID response where they sold doom and gloom regarding the big bad phoney plague that was no where near as devastating as we were told so that they could coerce people into taking experimental injections ….

Let’s make the COVID response an election issue too and demand debates by all sides of the ‘science’ table to see who’s got the evidence …. Let the court of public opinion rule ….

why would that be? What gullible fool would ever think that somehow, Canadians can wave some kind of magic wand that makes forest fires disappear? Especially by taxing ourselves into oblivion? It's such a ridiculous concept that assumes that all voters are fools. There is no correlation between Canadians suffering under horrible taxes, and forest fires. Besides which, forest fires are required in nature to rejuvenate forests. They've been going on since the first tree popped up on earth. Suddenly, people in BC can vote away forest fires?

This is a concept called "magical thinking". It's especially prevalent with those pushing the man-made climate change hoax. The concept or belief that when a person believes that specific words, thoughts, emotions, or rituals can influence the external world. The ritual of paying taxes on natural gas will magically make forest fires go away. It's lunacy.

Correct! In fact, nature is just trying to catch up to what normal fire levels were pre-settlement. We've been trying to suppress fires for a century, and all it has done is increase the fuel load in our forests.

Most of southern BC is NDT4 (natural disturbance type 4) forests, which are supposed to burn every 15 years on average to keep fuel in check. Nature's just trying to restore that, and taxing people won't change Her will.

and then there is of course the arson issue - why are so many of these forest fires "human caused"? So if we vote the right way, people will stop committing arson? Is that what the lunatic Climate change are telling us?? Magical thinking, thy name is Klimate Kook.

I'd like to see the klimate kook's start representing themselves in all this instead of jumping on another virtue signalling train just to pat themselves on the back.
Not sure how many there are in this country but if they all stopped flying on those horrible carbon jets for vacations, all switched their homes over to solar like the government they support says is the thing to do. We could at least measure the effort. Lower their home temp to 17 in the winter and put on a sweater.
Right now the furthest thing from these confused minds are doing anything of measure and expecting everyone else to approve of such failed policies that clearly cannot ever be reached or become successful.
The mark of the liberalist, ruining a country since 2015.

When the Government continues to PO the voters of a province or the country, that is when voters tend to vote for anyone but so & so.

Currently both provincially and federally voters are most definitely PO with both governments.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.
It appears US voters hated Woke more than they hated Trump.

Dammit.
More NDP.

I'm beginning to wish for a law that allows only 2 PARTIES.
Even though I know what a mess they face south of the border.
Vote splitting is a myth. There's no such thing. People who hate the NDP will vote strategically. The only people who will vote BC United United are those who view the conservatives and the NDP as approximately equally bad.

Voting ‘strategically’ is analogous to vote ‘splitting’ …. Both terms are marketing gimmicks created by zee political pahtees to allow them to make decisions for you, decide which issues are more important for you and select the candidates for you …. It is a way of manipulating and controlling you … the childish debate and acrimony that now dominates partisan politics has stifled open and genuine debate on legislature floors and among the public … party members are not free to vote on issues according to their own values or those of their constituents and must toe the party line … we need a return to more direct democracy rather than the failed party representative model that currently stands … it all starts at the ballot box and every vote counts …

Could not agree with you more. I still have difficulty believing that only 33% of citizens yet 100% of the voters believe they have the right to complain. Democracy requires responsibility an that means voting. Perhaps we need to consider the Australian model, required voting; do not vote receive a fine.

What an effed up idea! I'm sick in the hospital and you think I should be fined for not voting??? I live in Mozambique for 20 years, and you think I should be fined for not voting in Canada? My car breaks down on the way to polling station, and you think I should be fined for not voting? My mom is sick in France, so you think I should be fined for not voting? I don't like any of the options or think the bureaucracy makes all the decisions anyway, so you think I should be fined? I have a religious objection to voting so I should be fined? I'm a poor homeless drug addict and think I should be fined for not voting?

You are spouting a luxury belief that is really stupid. I'm a Canadian citizen who has a right to complain, whether I'm a 16 year old who can't vote or a 60 year old who chooses not to vote.

Absolutely… in the 2020 provincial election only about 50% of the eligible voters voted … if only 25% of those that did not vote voted for an independent candidate committed to more direct, rather than representative democracy, the independents would have a majority and the party system would be shut down … either way it should be shut down …
