Re: More NDP Lunacy. $ 10 Billion on Bonds?
OK…so evidently according to you the $ 17 BILLION in NDP debt is all a big lie and every government in the history of BC has added more debt than the NDP ever did. Odds are you will next tell us that BC’s credit rating didn’t go down under the NDP and that it is not higher under the BC Liberals as it currently is. Whatever. Let’s agree to disagree.Nicklan wrote:

No worries. Nicklan will soon try and tells us that really the election result was not 77 to 2; much as the NDP didn’t add the most debt of any two term government in the history of BC. I suspect more selective re-writing of history will also occur. Funny how the NDP and supporters to this day still try and deceive voters much as they did with their fudget budgets.Urbane wrote:Some may have forgotten but in 2001 B.C. voters were paying attention. Ujjal Dosanjh conceded the election before the vote and the Liberals won 77 out of 79 seats. I'm personally not a big fan of Gordon Campbell but he and his government are eons ahead of the NDP when it comes to competence in government.

Hmm . . . remember the Fudge-it Budget? Remember Harcourt taking the fall for the Bingo-gate? Remember the RCMP investigation of Glen Clark and his subsequent resignation? One party does not have a monopoly on lying or acting like scoundrels.[/quote]
Remember our premier in the drunk tank. If that was in canada he would have been unable to continue to serve as premier. Since in Hawaii it is only a misdemeanor he just walked away.
At least the NDP are willing to admit mistakes were made, and took the fall. Gordo just ignored it.
The fudget budget is the one under discussion. An investigation of it by the liberals when they came into power found that there was no truth to the lies from the Liberals about the budget. The figures used were true and not fudged in any way.
They went beyond that to point out that the record deficit that the liberals produced was in fact totally their fault . This occured because they did not follow their election promise for lower taxes for the poorest British Columbians but in fact extended it to all British Columbians giving the rich a huge payoff for their support. Of course they then used the fact of the huge deficit budget to cut many many services and to raise costs for you on all services including a doubling of your MSP premiums. Premiums that in almost all provinces are free. Are you getting twice the value for your MSP premiums?
Therefore, you got the party you wanted, got shafted and still are getting shafted and will continue until this government gets tossed out. Only problem is you are so blinded by your loyalty to the old SoCred now "Liberal" party that you can't see it.

Yes, Campbell did indeed get caught driving drunk while on vacation in Hawaii (Maui actually) this is something that is factual and is true.butcher99 wrote:Remember our premier in the drunk tank. Much as it is factual and true that former NDP Premier Glen Clark claimed the 1995/1996 Budget was “balanced” a claim he took into the 1996 Provincial General election. Afterwards it was proven that the budget was not in fact balanced at all and in fact had a deficit. Glen Clark actually admitted this in his now famous “wiggle room” comment. Again these are all facts.
As for taxes; yes; the BC Liberals actually eliminated taxes for low income British Columbians….you pay no tax at all on the first 15,500 whereas the NDP taxed low income earners close to 10%. Again these are facts that can be verified through the Revenue Canada historical tax rate database. In other words these are facts you cannot refute.
Do you need me to post directly form the Rev. Can site to show the lower taxes for all income brackets compared to record high’s under the NDP ? Or is Revenue Canada wrong too ?

Actully that is a good point as it turned out their was no proof and no Charges either, but that never stopped the Liberals from sending in their people with the News Reporters in tow!Urbane wrote:Hmm . . . remember the Fudge-it Budget? Quite a few of them aren't there. It must be nice to have the newspapers on your side they way they do so they can continue to broadcast lies and inuendo that is believed so rapidly by their followers.
Even when the proof that they were incorrect is offered up some refuse to believe that they could be wrong.

So now the media is also wrong as well and only the NDP and supporters like you are always correct? And the NPD wonder why they lack credibility…..butcher99 wrote: Quite a few of them aren't there. If that means selling out BC and British Columbians as fast as they can, then I would agree !Urbane wrote:Some may have forgotten but in 2001 B.C. voters were paying attention. That is the same man who is the Liberal Mp for Vancouver is he not !Urbane wrote:And you know who tipped off the media? Ujjal Dosanjh, that's who. He was Attorney General at the time and he thought it was time for Glen Clark to go, as did many others in the NDP. Clark was becoming a distraction for the party, but blame it on the media or the Liberals if you like.

This whole argument doesn't make sense. All liberals are lying and stealing *bleep* and only care about rich people. And all NDP members care about us working class folks and think about us at night. So, whatever!

Re: More NDP Lunacy. $ 10 Billion on Bonds?
I'm really having a problem following this discussion. But as to the point highlighted I have to point out that urbane noted Harcourt took the fall for Bingogate by resigning even though he was not implicated. Dave Stupich on the other hand was implicated, and charges and guilt certainly were involved..Nicklan wrote:Actully that is a good point as it turned out their was no proof and no Charges either, but that never stopped the Liberals from sending in their people with the News Reporters in tow!Urbane wrote: Hmm . . . remember the Fudge-it Budget? "In the late 1950s, Stupich set up and controlled the Nanaimo Commonwealth Holding Society, which raised funds on behalf of the NDP.
...after a tip that something was amiss from the head of the Nanaimo Commonwealth Bingo Association, RCMP launched an investigation. It found Stupich ran kickback schemes in which donations to charities were refunded to NCHS. In 1999, Stupich, then 77, faced 64 charges, including theft, fraud, forgery and breach of trust. He pleaded guilty that year to fraud and running an illegal lottery, involving the misappropriation of about $1 million from the NCHS. He was sentenced to two years, serving it on electronic monitoring at his daughter's home in Nanaimo."[/b]
