Sick of NDP attack ads
The constant attack ads on the TV are driving me nuts. Can't this party ever focus on what they have done or maybe even, what they can do?
Non stop attacks on the best government that B.C. has had in a long time...just not working on winning me over.
Could anyone really imagine James as premier? We would be the laughing stock of the country, continent...maybe the world? A premier with a permanent scowl on her face, pro union, anti business...people and industry would leave B.C. in droves. We would be doomed!!!

Character has everything to do with leadership, and Campbell demonstrates a deficit in character; thus, he is the wrong person to lead the province and, by extension, the Liberals are the wrong party, as they failed to select a new leader, who didn't earn him/herself a criminal record while in office...
Also, while Campbell's been in office, B.C. has the worst record for child poverty in Canada. The Liberals ripped up union contracts, which the Supreme Court of Canada declared to be an unconstitutional (read: illegal) act. The Olympics are going to cost a hell of a lot more than the originally promised $600-700 million dollars. The legal system in our province is woefully underfunded and understaffed, and it's not going to get better in the near future. The health care system in this province has not improved under this government. The state of senior care in this province has declined precipitously over the last eight years.
Google Basi-Virk and Patrick Kinsella for more dirt on the current government, and why they simply must be removed from office on May 12th.
I could go on, but if you think this is one of the best governments BC has ever had, then you have either personally benefited from Gordon Campbell selling off BC's public assets, or else you just don't care that many children in this province are worse off for Gordon Campbell's callous cuts to social services for our province's most vulnerable citizens.

Oh, and by the way, I'm sick of Campbell spending British Columbians' tax dollars on the "Best Place on Earth" ads, when that money could be better spent on the following: first, retraining people who have been laid off in the forestry industry; second, improving our schools; third, improving health care; fourth, improving infrastructure (and creating jobs!); etc.

Re: Sick of NDP attack ads
You talk about wasted money? How can anybody support the BC NDP:
Facts:
1993 - Raised taxes by over 2 billion dollars
1994 - BC has highest tax rate in North America
1995 - Harcourt forced to resign over fraudulent budget
1996 - Mass exodus of over 25,000 BC residents
1997 - Worst job losses in Canada
1998 - Dead last economic growth in Canada, record high unemployment
1999 - 8th deficit budget, 100's of BC companies leave to other provinces
2000 - Ah, the fast ferries...over $450 million *bleep* away. I will take the Olympics any day, thanks.
If you believe that somehow the NDP will help you...or anyone else, you are sadly mistaken. Please do your homework. Carol James is not qualified to lead this province and manage its budget. Homelessness will always be a problem in BC. We have the mildest climate in Canada...easier to be homeless in Vancouver than Toronto. Child poverty is terrible but the NDP will not do a better job solving the problem.
Oh, and you want to start googling names? Try Jenny Kwan, Harry Lali, Mike Farnworth and Adrian Dix to name a few. Glen Clark and the disaster of the 90's live on...

You'll take billions of dollars being *bleep* away on the Owelympics any day?
Also, Glenn Clark was exonerated (something that didn't happen for Campbell in Maui). Also, Harcourt voluntarily resigned over allegations, thus demonstrating that he had the sense to step down when necessary. Gordon Campbell found himself with a criminal conviction and didn't have the decency to step aside.
Also, why should he continue to be the Premier with a criminal record, when I would never be allowed to pass the bar exam if I had the same criminal record? Only those with a lack of ethics and character similar to Campbell's could continue to support this criminal.

Re: Sick of NDP attack ads
Without getting into a cheerleader session I can say that I was disappointed with the NDP attack ads. I was hoping that the NDP for once might have come out with something positive to say about this province or it’s vision if elected but once again; the Negative Destruction Party (NDP) lives up to it’s name.
Negative attack ads did not work for the US Republicans and people are tired of this kind of crap. Obama proved that being positive works and I can’t help but agree. I’ll support the positive over the negative every time.

You keep harping on this drinking and driving conviction like it somehow makes a difference? The man made a mistake, came clean and dealt with the consequences. This incident has no bearing on his ability to lead our province. It has nothing to do with his success pulling out of the hole the NDP got us into.
Glenn Clark was exonerated???!!! For what, ruining our economy? I don't think so. Who cares about the casino scandal...that was the least of offenses. Don't forget, O.J. got off his murder charges...
There is no argument. The NDP party did more to hurt BC than Bush did to hurt the U.S. Anyone that somehow believes that they could possible come back into power without messing this place up is sadly mistaken. The facts are the facts. The players are the same. The NDP party is more like a bad Strata council: Unqualified to lead and *bleep* off at everything for no good reason.

Re: Sick of NDP attack ads
Maybe this is a good analogy
What would you rather have?
Liberal
-earn $10. Pay $2 in tax for running the governent and the good of the people. You get to decide what to spend the $8 on which also grows the economy and is ultimately for the good of the people
Or...
NDP
-earn $10. Pay $5 in tax for running the government and the good of the people. You get to decide what to spend the remaining $5 on which necessarily has a smaller growth effect on the economy and ultimately has a smaller good effect for the people
The difference being in one choice you decide what to spend on to spur the economy. In the other, the government decides. There are those that say the more government is involved, the more leakage results, and the less ultimate good for the people

I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.

You're comparing Glenn Clark to O.J. Simpson? The two cases are not analogous, and it makes you sound desperate to deflect attention away from Campbell's criminal record....
Privatization and deregulation are ruining British Columbia's economy.
Also, who do you blame the recent loss of 22,000 jobs in B.C. on? The party in power, or the opposition?

Liberals: This is what we have done, this is what we're doing right now, this what we'll do.
NDP: This is what Liberals are doing wrong.
Party that has no real foundation for their campaign and bases the whole thing on attacking the other party should not be in charge.

Typical NDP tatic. The irrelevant blame game.
OK I'll play your silly game...since I can't decide which political party is at fault for 22,000 people lost their jobs perhaps you can tell me and why.
If the NDP and their crew could muster up the maturity and attempt to garner my vote by telling me why I should vote for them - I'd listen.
If they had a positive message supported with positive solutions to make British Columbians lives better - THEN THEY SHOULD BE IN POWER.
I COULD GET BEHIND THAT!
But nope, what they want to woo me is with incessent bashing. Continious negativity day after day.
Is that the NDP at it's best?

Not afraid to say "It".

Actually, if you'd bothered to read the thread and more specifically what *bleep* wrote and I what I quoted from him in my last post, you'd have noticed I was responding to his accusation that Clark had ruined our economy.... So, as for my using a blame game tactic...
