Here's an example of the potential for Christian/Atheist harmony:
You do realize that this is an evil atheist making fun of the rapture. He's mocking your beliefs, get him! He is also taking advantage of people who actually think they are going to get raptured away.
Scamming money off of the mentally ill is bad, m'kay.
Ahhh, so now religious people are all mentally ill. This is why I wondered how you treat religious people you know, or do they know that you think they're all mentally ill?
They say you can't believe everything they say.

And yet your defenses are so eloquent.
It's not about defending the Bible (or even Christianity for that matter). It's about speaking out against prejudicial ignorance and the promotion of hatred and intolerance. No surprise that this is flying right past your head.

The question isn't a question its a catalyst for fuel creation to power the hate machine that creates the cream to feed to bees who make the honey that lubes the cogs of the child labour that POWERs the interwebs!

Agreed. I think the problem for Atheists is "organized" religion. Something that REQUIRES me to go to church on Sunday, do 590 Allah Akbar bows towards the rising sun, sacrifice goats, etc.... makes no sense to me.

If I were to believe in A God, why do I have to do something specific to show my belief? Can't I believe He is good and mighty from my house on Sunday while I watch the NFL?

I'd refine it even more and say I'm only against the triumph of superstition over reason in the pubic domain. Education, government, laws and rights need to remain as secular as possible.

But I'm not going to begrudge a Christian or Muslim (or whom ever) for thinking I'm going to hell, or to not.

Absolutely. And I know I've said this before. It is my position the the religious ma goes to church on Sunday and thinks about golf, while the spiritual man goes golfing on Sunday and thinks about God (of course, this isn't during NFL season when it would be sacriledge to be anywhere but the couch).

p.s. I think Soulra spends his Sunday thinking about how angry he is.

If they think that they are going to get beamed up by rapture jesus, you bet they are.

If someone does believe something like that, it's probably safe to say that they aren't included in my circle of friends. I'm ok with that. I prefer progressive people, not regressive ones.

Actually, Sunday is just another work day for me. No anger involved. Thanks for the random dig though. Nice to know you are always thinking of me. Makes me feel all warm and gushy inside. :sunshine:

Quoting out of context, nice. The point....you missed it. I highly doubt the unitarians are down with rapture jesus....actually it's more of a haven from that sort of stupidity.

Unitarians are religious, believe in God, and the originator of the Unitarian church was a Catholic priest... I think we all know how you feel about people that relate to those things, but continue spewing your hate if you wish ... it's getting too tiresome to deal with, and I doubt you'll ever get it.
