The double post was intentional, the first post applies to the NDP, and the past post applies to the Liberals, get it "first past the post = disfunctional government"
This is suppose to be a political democratic forum, so much for making a mute political point.

. . . and it's 'moot' not 'mute'. 'Mute' would mean you were making a silent political point. I don't think anybody is going to accuse you of that.
That was my whole point, if you can't make a moot point, it becomes a mute point. Anyway, I apologize, I'll make all future moot points without double post and fully respect your rules. Russ.

Russell do you think you will get around to answering my questions on Alan's health care plans?

Is he that Glemore pig farmer who caused all those problems a few years back?

No, Alan Clarke is an orchardist. The hog farmer was a Mr. Wayne Sykora, who had a hog farm between Union and Cross Rd., where they built the Dr. Knox Middle School replacement. Mr. Sykora moved his hog farm to the Ellison area, after the City purchased the hog farm property, for the school and an access road.

As a student member I have not seen a recent study on homelessness put up on the site, nor have I ever seen the BCMA refer to homelessness as a disease.

What study, where?
Why are you on this forum, when you reside in Victoria? Must be one of Campbell's gold-plated spin doctors.

The above bears repeating for multiple reasons.

To answer your question Russell:
Home is where the heart is, where the family lives, where the friends are. I have both friends and family that live in Westbank (err West Kelowna) and Kelowna and when I am done school I imagine I may be moving back to the area. Campbell, wouldn't vote for the guy. Gold-plated, I wish. Spin doctor, give your head a shake man.

I think I have asked some very straight forward questions regarding Alan's views and plans, I would appreciate a few straight forward answers.

Care to explain what any of that means? Any politician can say "improve X" "fix Y" "change A" but it really is just white noise. Does Alan have a plan on how any of what you just mentioned can be fixed (beyond the politically mundane idea that it should be fixed) and how is he going to sell of proposed fixes to a Liberal or NDP controlled legislature?

+ My questions were:

- What is specifically wrong with healthcare delivery, not the symptoms but the actual mechanism or lack of one that is the problem?
-What is Alan's solution to that problem?

- What is specifically wrong with the current system of administering and managing health care?
-What is Alan's solution to that problem?

- What is the new "systems approach" proposed by Alan?

-What are the details of "Universal Health Care Client Caps and Deductables"? Sounds like private insurance to me.

-What constitutes "Abuse of the system", examples?

If you don't want to answer these questions, or can't, just say so.

Exactly. Vagueness and evasion. I think we have enough of this ilk in Victoria already, do we really need another? Especially an unaffiliated one with no realistic hope of bringing any of his plans to fruition.

You know, had the candidate and/or his agents been a little less contentious, and maybe a bit more forthcoming with answers to legitimate question and concerns I wouldn't be so inclined to write him off.

Alan Clarke's electoral plan is very welcome to the residents of Kelowna and the Canadian Tax Payers Federation. City of Kelowna, property tax increases are again more than forecasted. " We need provincial legislation that protects property taxpayers, and performs value for money audits at the local government level, to protect property and business tax owners." Kelowna's home owners on average will pay $ 107.64 more in municiple taxes in 2009, during difficult economic times, plus an additional 2.3% school levy increase, a 3.6% increase in Regional District levy, a 4.2% increase in Hospital levy, a 4.8% increase in Library levy and taxes. Alan Clarke stated that,
" It's bad enough that BC Liberal Provincial government spending is out of control, but we also see Municipal government and spending also out of control. Alan Clarke's vision and plan for local residential and commercial property owners is very clear in this election campaign. Alan proposes the following measures for residential and commercial property owners.

1. Expanding the Purview of the Auditor Generals Office to include the following: Audit of all Taxpayer supported governments, agencies, regional districts, water districts, First Nation self governments and crown corporations.

2. Legislation to Cap Property Taxes to the rate of inflation and equalization of property tax rates across property classifications, allowing citizens to vote on local tax levels for local services.

3. Elimination and Repeal of the BC Liberal and NDP Property Transfer Tax.

" Seniors, especially Seniors on fixed incomes, that have had to endure the economic stock market crash in recent months, can no longer afford to tighten their belts any further, let alone afford another excessive City of Kelowna property tax increase and tax levy increase, the buck stops here," stated Alan Clarke.

" We need to hold all governments to account in BC, and that starts in Victoria with the BC Liberal law makers."

When one compares this forum, to the amount of website engagements ( or hits ) a candidate receives, the amount of doors he or she knocks on, and the numerous email responses, this forum is no more influential on the voting public than one roadside bag sign. This forum however is great for disenchanted Liberal and Socialist political junkies, that do nothing but complain, and add negativity to politics in general. Its lets them feel important for 28 days. The serious voter avoids this forum, according to our polling, and some emails we've received. Their has been over 100 posts on this thread, but on the other hand, our website: http://www.electclarke.ca has received thousands of hits to date, our campaign is pleased with the results so far. Now thats positive progressive campaigning at its best.

Website hits do not equal votes.

Sorry, but I found your previous post to be little more than political babble with no answer to any of the questions presented.
So I love the Okanagan but it's a place best enjoyed from atop a very large pile of $100 bills. - Spocky

Vagueness, evasion, and now insult. Your arsenal of campaign tools is sadly lacking. I suppose we shall see for sure come next Tuesday.
