Our Noah's Ark

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

Is this a plausible explanation to Revelation 13?

Yes, it is possible.

-the world is quickly becoming overpopulated
-a huge volcano is supposed to erupt soon near Yosemite park which could darken the Earth
-a huge plate is supposed to shift soon off of Vancouver causing a massive earthquake
-within a few years the majority of BC's forests will be dead and dried out
-a pole shift may happen soon
-weather around the globe is becoming more extreme at an alarming rate
-too many countries with loose cannons at the helm have nuclear weapons
-bees, which are responsible for roughly 70% of the food we eat, are in decline
-previously unknown diseases are popping up in meat and vegetables
-viruses are becoming super-viruses

... and so on, and so on. These are based on science... I'm not going to take out a loan and party it up in 2011 because I think the world will end suddenly in 2012, but it seems a likely year for the beginning of the end. You're positive it won't end, is this because your ego has become so big that you know more than all scientists? Please enlighten us.

All of which could take place without Revelations having been written.

Exactly... science and revelations both point the same way on this one, so I guess if someone thinks they're above God and science they could disegard both.

zzontar, science isn't "pointing the way" to anything. Science can help to explain why things happen, as opposed to having Chicken Little's running around saying the sky is falling. If a massive earthquake happens near Vancouver, we will know today it is because of a shift in tectonic plates, not because some god is mad at us.

People have been predicting the end of the world for a couple of thousand of years. They've been wrong every time. I see no reason to suspect anyone is right now.

Let's try this again while being civil to each other

"My country is the world, and my religion is to do good."

Interesting thing about end time predictions is that every generation since Christ has had those who were sure the end was coming in their day. Many New Testament authors implied or said Christ was going to be back any day....

I guess it's if at first you don't succeed, fail, fail, fail, fail, fail, fail again. They'll get it right one of these years....after all every second is closer to the end. :dyinglaughing:

I'm gunna stick my head out a mm or two and make a profound prediction: there will be a massive earth quake and many people will die.

(The trick to making these predictions is to never specify when they will happen)

So, your 'hope' and 'faith' culminates in death and destruction for everyone. I'm sorry, but that is not a healthy way to think or live.

Don't you realize that everytime you speak you are the one who shows ignorance. The Bible is a war story. It is good verses evil. The only reason you are on Earth is to make a decision. Will you support God or Satan? M777

I'll take option C- Neither.

Sorry Mike, but the only thing you have taught me is the lengths the rapture readies are willing to go to spread stupidty all over the land. The thing is, no matter how nutty one of you is, there is always another one who out-crazies the previous one. It's fractal stupidity in action, and it's fascinating to watch it (de)evolve.
