I was in my 20's when the Commodor 64 came out. The hard drive was on a cassett tape. a dual drive meant 2x 5.25 floppy drives. 13" B&W TV for a monitor.

$5.00 worth of gas would last a weekend of cruising. McDonalds, 1967, hamburger, fries, drink = .95

Excuse me, but but but but I thought your credo was, "no personal information'? I too was in my 20's when Commodor 64 came out, and they had a computer show at Lake Louise when I was working there. hmmmmmm, you are narrowing down your age!
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

LOL. From a real newspaper I started reading years ago and haven't finished yet (cost, 5 cents)..

Seamed ladies nylons 43 cents a pair or 3 pair for a dollar. Women's fashion skirts $2.39. Pile collar car coat, $7.95. men's dress shirts 3.49. Genuine leather wallets, $1.55. super Deluxe Washing machine, $164.95. men's hocky skates, $7.95. Ladies figure skates, $8.65. Box of chocolates 85 cents. And a 21 inch custom console black and white TV only $309.50!!!

Of course, there were no sales taxes (GST, PST, HST) to add in those days, so that made things a bit easier to afford ;-)
