It's not a twist, it's a definition. Not all religious believe in God either.... not trying to lump everyone into the same category, but the statement was that some atheists are turning atheism into a religion. My opinion is that this is true.

There is truth to this... if you look at a list of the different religions, Buddhism is in there.
edit to add: Does this mean Buddhists are also atheists?
They say you can't believe everything they say.
