Too many members are taking other members to task over grammar and spelling errors. I think most of us have our pet peeves about such things (I like paragraph breaks, for example, and rarely read a long post that doesn't contain such breaks), however this board is not a classroom and the posts are not meant to be graded.

There are a couple of points I'd like to make:

1. The habit of correcting others for grammatical/spelling errors is rude. It is not your job, nor is there any place for such 'education' on this board. It pays to keep in mind that while it is not against the rules to make grammatical/spelling errors, it is against the rules to badger others about it.

2. I've noticed, with amusement, that people who feel the need to correct others invariably make plenty of their own grammatical and spelling errors. You know what they say about glass houses.

Well-meaning or not (and it is rarely well-meaning), please do not advise others on grammatical/spelling errors. If their failure to live up to your lofty standards offends, don't read their posts!

Once you've banished the right wingers to the history books, would you mind telling me where the jobs are going to come from? No jobs, no taxes, no funding for all the rest of the things on your list. It's the right wingers that create the industries/businesses that create the jobs that pay the taxes that fund the government.

But if you have an alternative, I would love to hear it. Seriously.

And if you don't agree with me, would you kindly refrain from hurling personal insults like you did to everyone else here. Thanks.

As much as it is a pet peeve, I’m not pointing this out to insult you. I really believe that you probably have some good points to make that should at least be considered seriously by readers. Unfortunately this will never happen if we can’t even read what you’re posting.

I frequently make the odd spelling mistake or grammatical error but at least a reader can get my meaning. Much of the time your pots are nothing more than gibberish, and I know you have a point to make. Given your passion for ... something (we can’t understand what you’re posting) I can’t believe you are so complacent that you wouldn’t want to try and be understood. Do you care about what you’re saying ? Do you think we should care about it ?

If you care about what you’re saying and you think we should care about what you’re saying then you better start caring about what you’re saying.

I'm sure there are some good points in there somewhere, this is by no means an insult, but it truly is tough to wade through.

I'll only coment on one thing...Companies that pollute ...get out...

They are already doing this, instead of pouring millions into attempting to 'green' up they just pick up and move to a country not as stringent with the enviro-laws, they are not any cleaner running, on the contrary, they are more than likely polluting even more than ever.

All that has changed is the unemployment rate in our Country, and the quality of the product being produced once it does make it back here..

How is that better for the Planet as a whole???

Thanks--db

wsb, I made a general comment about spelling (you took it I was talking about you) and you responded with direct slams and belittling. For that, I shall take Jo's advice and bow out. Hasta la vista!

It's time for some people to learn to spell. At least sometimes.

westsidebud, this may be difficult for you to comprehend, but many people would not agree that the points you raise constitute a country growing up. first insult posted by nebula

*repost without the personal attack/Jo* second posted by stephen

Sorry, I have to agree. Westside-your ramblings and rants have no credibility. In fact, for the most part they are impossible to read. If you want to be understood, maybe try a grammar/writing class. Then we can discuss growing up.third posted by animal lover

all i did was defend myself against personal attacks instead of talking bout the subject, so try n get your stories straight .

to answer your question to have all them things that do make a country good is a leader who actually cares about the ppl in canada . because if canadians are doing good then the country will be doing good. its that simple
