Yeah, I know. But since everybody is complaining about stupid BS, I didn't want to be left out.

So yeah! Take this, establishment!

Colbert actually praises Canadians. Imagine that. :)

Did he have a choice? The Globaltv morning crew were making fun of him being "too busy" when they requested an interview and then one said, "ya he's too chicken to appear on our show." Then they showcased "ICE - HOLE BEER" and hamburgers.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

About the only thing I would have liked to see in Vancouver is the Colbert Report. I guess you just had to get there early. No ticket required. Could care less about the other events when the better stuff is going for $500 a ticket to start. Give me a break.

I ran across this information and thought perhaps it might shed a little truth on the question of which Olympics might well go down in history as the worst. (perhaps just me but I'd say Munich)

You might also note that the luge fatality here was also not the first of its kind.

We still love you Britain even if you trash talk us, that's what makes us Canadians! :sunshine:

Heard that this evening and thought it was rather spot on.

That was after a British journalist was interviewed and he shared that he thought the criticism was a tad harsh and they'd probably be biting their tongues when they have to host the Summer Olympics.

I tend to think he's got a good point as karma has that way of coming back around.

Yea, seems people are softening their stance a bit today with the clear sunny skies and relatively good conditions at Whistler and Cypress. The womens downhill was a blast to watch. Lots of drama, emotions, and some spectacular wipe outs. Half pipe was ok. Not really that interesting to me.

Don't worry, the attudes will come back with the rain and the rain will come back just as sure as it always does in Vancouver. A lot of the negativity comes from the depressing rainy weather Vancouver tends to have LOT's of this time of year.

Good zamboni ice action at the oval so hopefully that genie is back in the bottle. They fixed the fence stupidity. Now if they can just keep their sheit together for another week and a half we might make it through without looking like total morons.

Seems even security is suspect at best.

A man carrying a fake entry pass got within metres of U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden at last Friday's Olympic opening ceremony but posed no real threat, the RCMP said Wednesday.

Officials with the Olympic Integrated Security Unit (ISU) confirmed that a man they described as mentally unstable entered BC Place stadium along with more than 60,000 spectators. But just how he got in the building is unclear.

The man was spotted by police officers from the ISU working as part of Biden's security detail as he approached the V.I.P. seating area.

"When the individual was approximately 12 rows away, RCMP officers stopped and escorted the gentleman farther away into a hallway," said Sgt. Rich Graydon. "At that point, he fled and was apprehended by the ISU police."

Graydon said the man had passed through magnetometer screening during his initial entry and was searched again by police after being detained.

"It was confirmed again that he had no weapons or dangerous items on him," said Graydon.

"All I can say is he came in with false accreditation and that we're investigating it," he said.

Well I guess all I can say to that is the Secret Service wasn't concerned and in fact praised the RCMP.

Then again I suppose you being an expert on all things they should have consulted you first before speaking to anyone.
