Canadian Women

Post by eyepop »

canadian women have figured in 12 of canada's 15 medals thus far.

that's impressive.

the women's 2-PERSON bobsled races last night were amazing.

Joannie Rochette's performance on tuesday was the bravest thing i have witnessed in all of sport.

..and with women's hockey and Cheryl Bernard's rink to play.....

Hats off to the ladies, and not to rain on their parade, Hockey is a perfect example of why. There is a very small talent pool in a good portion of the ladies events.

There's a significant number of the events where the talent pool is just a good as, if not better, than the men.

I'd venture the odds are just greater that a woman would have a better support group than a man.

I doubt Clara Hughes would have all those medals if it weren't for the full support of her husband.

Hockey game was a little scary for the first 8 minutes... Seems that we're getting our momentum back now.

Sharper passes ladies!

Another penalty?! I'm freaking out

Huge goaltending by Canada!

Women hockey is sold-out, so those are sold seats and the ticket holder is somewhere else. Believe me I tired to get seats. I wish I could have.

What???????????

How much income can a person that's devoting all their time to various sports generate?

I'm not saying it's a bad thing I just don't imagine there's a whole lot of women willing to put their whole life on hold and pay the bills while the guy works to attain medals.

The millionaire professional hockey players don't count in my book as they shouldn't even be in the Olympics which was supposed to be a venue for amateurs.

Saw Clara Hughes in an interview just moments ago. What a gal!! She thanked all the various committees, sponsors, etc for all the support they have given her.
Strange tho' - not once did she even mention her husband!
