You don't know this, and you are just setting yourself up to look foolish when it doesn't happen. How about all of the intangibles of these games? All the businesses and people that had never heard of Vancouver before now wanting to set up shop here? These games go far past a "2 week orgasm" as you so inappropriately call it, as they put Vancouver, and British Columbia, on the world map now as a friendly vibrant city with it's doors to the world wide open. That is a huge intangible that I know tiny-thinking people like you would never even consider. Think small, act small, be small - seems to be the mantra among the gloomy guses on this board.

I think the topic was horrible organization of the games and vanoc incompetency. But wait a second, it's all a load of baloney. Games are beautifully organized, city is handling everything really well, and people are really enjoying them. None of your predictions came true. All events went ahead, snow was there, no huge protests, and everybody is beyond happy. Poop all you want, the organizer did a fantastic job. Hats off to them.

Pretty accurate summation, I would say.

Christy Clark on CBC had a blast with this story. Oh, she ripped Russians a new one. Might have gone overboard too.

That's probably for the best.

That article was the biggest pile of steaming crap I've read since the 2007 IPCC report on climate change.

I love it. I absolutely love it. Sitting on the ice drinking beer and smoking cigars after winning gold in olympic hockey. CANADIAN GIRLS ROCK!
