I'll second that. Simpler is better.

"The 2010 Winter Olympics will come to an official close during a closing ceremony on February 28, 2010. The ceremony will be held at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which seats 55,000 people. The 2010 Olympic Opening and closing ceremonies are the first in Olympic history to be held indoors.http://www.vancouver2010.com/en/news/ne ... mpic.html4 The choreographer for the closing ceremonies is Jean Grand-Maitre, who is the artistic director of the Alberta Ballet.

As with the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony will be broadcast live, as well as on their official Olympic website, NBCOlympics.com. Canadian viewers can watch the ceremony live on CTV, or CTVOlympics.ca."

Well, after a light hearted but patriotic start, I lost interest somewhere in the latter half. I really got a kick out of the Mountie segment though. :-)

Surprise, surprise...the closing ceremonies were actually pretty good! No stupid drunken Irish tap dancing fiddle playing punkers...lol. So proud of our athletes..you all did a great job!! Pretty impressive to make history winning the most golds...ever!!! Leave it to the Americans to brag about winning the medal count...ya...pretty impressive to be the country that came in 2nd and 3rd more than any other...lolol

I have to say the inflatables were embarrassing. Tacky tacky tacky.

I could have been worse though...it could have had the Rankins and all those other inbred clogging types.

Closing ceremony is always way less official and pompous. And it usually has more of a party tone than the official event. So, it kinda fell in line. Not my style though.
