Kicking Coffee....can it be done?

Post by Queen K »

:bethecoffee:

It's so popular it has it's own icon.

It's so powerfully addicting we get up every morning and reach for the coffee maker.

It is so addicting period that coffee shops flourish. Fortunes have been made on coffee. And spent.

Can you kick the coffee habit?

Anyone out there successful?

Why would anyone want to ? Two to three cups a day is good for you.

EDIT TO ADD:
I have one cup before training in the morning (shown to have a net positive impact on a workout routine), and one to two cups after I get to work (shown to stimulate thinking and improve short-term memory – the kind used in learning).
I once lived just a stone's throw away from a family who all died of mysterious head injuries.

Yes, people don't want to committ homicide. Other than that, how so? Ok, true, I haven't googled to look at all health benefits, but what about all the Energy drinks marketed to preteens and teens and all the caffine loaded up in them. What's it doing to their health?

I usually have two by the time I get to work. It's gotta go! My wife quit coffee few months ago, and it was easy for her. Now all she drinks is green tea.

Somebody suggested switching to crack cocaine might help me out, but it's a bit too far for me.

Suggestions, people.

Hmm, hadn't considered the homicide benefit. See my EDIT TO ADD for a couple of others.

She quit and you didn't and your still together? Who said there isn't real love in the World?

I tried several times over the years. The thing is, I never started til I was in my mid twenties. It's all been down hill from there.

I did kick the Timmies habit and lost several pounds though. :discodance:

I considered that, but I live in a small town and would ultimately end up buying from my clients.
Not cool.

Smart choice, you don't want to mix up your personal life with business!

Wait a minute, if you just said, "why quit it's good for you" then how can you add, "I've considered 'that'"?

Methinks coffee is the real crack. Ask this Q, if some Lab were to try to get coffee through the FDA today, would it pass?

I might switch from buying TH coffee to buying TH stock options for the same amount. Might work out better in the long run!

Good idea Captn. Just a note, we in QK Land made homemade Green Iced Tea all summer long last year, and we both noticed our clothes fit better. Still had the AM coffee though.

That's it. It's official. No more coffee for me, and no more trips to Tim Hortons.

Nah, I was thinking of doing it for a while. Looking at the monthly bank statement with multiple Tim Hortons lines really give motivation too.

I guess that's just the old "if a little bit of a buzz is good, then a bigger buzz must be better" line of thinking. Just thinking out loud here Queenie.

In fact, I seriously think it would.
