Over the past few days, I've had less coffee than usual. My head hurts; I too am hooked.

Then we will try for a lifetime supply of coffee as a settlement.

Ahhh that sounds good. I think my dad is hooked too, a self professed redneck who, rather than settling for a cuppa-joe, orders an americano at a coffee bar; yup, hooked.
Now excuse me as I have just milled some dark roast beans for my morning cup.

Ah, KC is not just a coffee lover, but a connoisseur!
I do enjoy my coffee, especially good coffee. But if push comes to shove I could switch to tea just as easily. A nice Irish Breakfast for morning, Yorkshire for afternoons, Yorkshire decaf for evenings. Peach Green Tea with Matcha for when I'm feeling unwell but still need the caffeine, or a peppermint tea for when I'm feeling really unwell. Chai for a rainy afternoon with a book . . .
I was a tea drinker first, and always will be on some level. BTW, that store on Enterprise (Little Britain) has the best decaf tea available in town (IMO).

It's a good thing coffee isn't illegal because of it's negative effects and addictiveness, but it would be interesting to hear what the coffee drinking anti-pot crusaders would have to say about it if it was illegal.

This reminds me, Terry O'Reilly, host of The Age of Persuasion, posted an interesting series of coffee commercials on my Facebook this week. I think you will enjoy it...

Simple: if coffee is illegal I switch to tea. If tea too is made illegal, I go to water. That is the thing about laws; while I may not agree I do abide by them, because that is the right thing to do.

Dagnabbit! I see this thread and I want coffee... mmm....

Don't take my silence to mean I've agreed with you; I easily could've just lost interest in explaining how wrong you are.

I've been off coffee in the past. Never felt better or worse when I wasn't drinking it and I enjoy it so I'm drinking it again.
Usually two travel mugs a day but will sometimes have a third.
Easiest way for me to stop in the past has been when I was sick. After a week with a flu (when I couldn't touch the stuff), I'd just not go back to drinking it for up to 6 months at a time. Figure I got all the nasty withdrawal symptoms rolled up in the flu symptoms and felt fine after without.

Caffeine is definitely a narcotic substance....
I never have a burning need to have a joint/smoke a bowl. Lately it's been difficult to deprive me of my morning cup(s) of coffee!

I've been drinking tea for the last few weeks. I notice it's easier to fall asleep now.

Green or black?
I find that I can't drink tea on an empty stomach, especially green tea, without feeling nauseous. I don't have the same problem with coffee. Or maybe the hemp milk I put in my coffee helps ease the effects of caffeine on my tummy?
