You know you're an atheist when...

You assert that there is no absolute categories of good and evil, that all morals are merely personal, social and evolutionary constructs but then you can still describe Christians and Christianity as absolutely immoral, repugnant and evil and a danger to humanity and not feel even a twinge of hypocrisy at the monumental illogic of your position.

The OP's list was better.
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

:dyinglaughing: I gotta tell ya John, That’s some pretty good stuff there. I’m not a Christian but you’ve certainly identified some popular defences that people who fear the idea others believe in something they cannot use to ridicule and disparage. Might make some people around here think but I’d bet for the most part you’re just going to see some posters around these parts digging in their heels further and spitting back their exclusive perception of reasoned thinking. Still, there are a lot of posters here with varying degrees of open-mindedness and there might even be a chance that some good people might actually start to like you if you could give up your obsession with “homosexuality is an abomination” thing and started demonstrating some open-mindedness stuff yourself.

In one experiment the scientists used synthetic life to create a copy of synthetic life (in the old days we just had sex except we skipped the synthetic part) and in the other they formed amino acids which are a component of life. Not quite the mark we’re looking for but I’m impressed.

Oops. Sorry John. After observing the ignorance displayed by you on the “Gay Pride” thread I take all that back. As much as I agree with some of the points you made here it works both ways.

Yes, I know - you don’t understand that.

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

Lloyd, you're such a stuff shirt. You need to take a few chill pills once in a while. My comments on both threads were all done as a joke. You can't possible think that I actually care about getting my views across to you or have a desire to influence your thinking! I pegged you and your buddies a long time ago and it's a complete waste of time trying to have a serious in depth, intelligent conversation with any of you. All you do is name call, vilify, excoriate and demonize anyone who expresses a view contrary to your own. You are all huge christianaphobes, anti-religious, secular bias, God hating bigots. So I figure if you can't beat em, join em and I do it strickly for kicks. You seem like a semi bright guy at times, but you are also somewhat naive.
