Good list. Remember the Ballerina club called Steamers on Queensway?

That was Annies.
Where I saw my first stripper on a tiny 4ft x 4ft stage, I was underage.

I remember Annies too but there was a Steamers.

I remember the name "Steamers" because of the Steamboats etched in glass used as false walls. We were not quite graduated in '82 when we snuck in and spotted one of our teachers there.

Is anyone else able verify?

OMIGOD, someday we'll be saying, "remember the Willow?"

Did you ever go to The Cave on Leon?

Thats the first one, I wasn't there the night it burnt to the ground but I had freinds that were.
It didn't take much to get it going with all foam they used to make it look like a real cave.

I loved The Cave! I seem to remember good food there too, I have often wished I had taken pictures in there. I went there for a couple of Christmas dinner/work parties.

The Cave, would that have been owned by the same guy that had one in Saskatoon ?

If so, I know the person who bought his house out there, same theme, a very large farm house all done up like a cave inside.

All done with chicken wire and plaster.



The Pier; draftiest pub I've ever been in in the winter, I've been in warmer ice-fish huts.

Does anyone remember going to sit on Santa's lap in Marshall Wells?
Strolling down Bernard Ave and looking at the Christmas lights in the store windows?
The Nativity scene that used to get set up on the grass where the Sails are? (or was it by city hall)

Oh this is good for the memory!!! I do recall my parents parents speaking about the elder Bennett in the window!.
How I would love to see a picture of THAT!

Olympia Pizza not so much, I was allowed to go to Pizza Hut near Spall where I played the Dobie Grey Drifting Away on their juke box ad nauseum!

When dining out downtown, the Long's Drug store lunch counter was where we always went.

Now that brings memories QK. Nice one.First song my daughter learned to sing ,at age 3 or 4 ,was Cover of the Rolling Stones.Can you just imagine the entertainment in the Facilities when we wind up there.

MERRY CHRISTMAS MERRY CHRISTMAS That was SUCH a surprise because I thought it was going to be WAC sitting in the window!!! Thank you very much.

Couple of things- Dobie is really rockin the Seinfeld/puffy shirt especially the cuffs! It triggered a memory - Remember the Hues Corporation - Rock the Boat (don't rock the boat baby, rock the boat, don't tip the boat over)
Well they played at the Regatta when the stage was on the other side of the water and before they came out on stage there was fabulous synchronized swimmers and diving displays. It must have been ? 1974. I wore a long peasant skirt! I digress. One of my friends was walking on the sidewalk in front of the park the afternoon before the concert and the band who were staying in that hotel were out on the balcony chatting and in hind-sight cat calling. We were very impressed because they were smitten with my friend. Rightfully so, she was fabulous!

I've wondered about that too! How the disco era will hold up when played on an organ and accordion. I also wonder if there will be any air-guitar players for the rock numbers.
