Learn Something New Every Day

Post by strwbrrydvl »

It can be insightful or it can be silly.. Everyday we all learn something new.
What did you learn today?

I discovered a new word: 'phiz' is British slang for face.

I learned that if you move even one little link on a website (cleaning house), you could be in for a world of hurting and have to rebuild the whole damn thing (all 1,000+ pages and 5,000+ images). Ouch.

Or ...

I could look on the bright side and view it as an opportunity for a brand new up-to-date modern look for an older website (that just went through a total redesign less than two years ago :( )

Depends on how much of a Pollyanna I feel like being today.

*sigh*

I'll have to confirm this one in the warmer months:

If you count the number of cricket chirps you hear in 15 seconds and add 37 the resulting number is how many degrees Fahrenheit it is.

101 Dalmations, Lady & the Tramp, Peter Pan and Mulan are the only Disney cartoon movies that have both parents alive throughout the entire film, all the other films have a deceased parent/s.

In the movie "Littlest Mermaid" where the young starry eyed mermaid is willing to give up her family and her voice for a boy/man she only briefly sees and hears, also shows the pastor, while performing a marriage ceremony, get an erection --- really!
Slow motion the show if you have it or watch this:

Probably not something anyone needed to learn today, but strwbrrydvl info reminded me...

I don't doubt you. Supposedly there is a lot of penises hidden in the scenery (in particular Aladin) and many sexual innuendo's in the Disney films. Now that my kids are just starting to watch the movies I am starting to see things that make me think that good ol' Walt was rather twisted..

(edit after watching youtube clip: oh my! that is quite the wrinkle in those pants isn't it?)

If you measure from the tip of your middle finger on your left all the way across your chest to your other out streached arm to your right middle finger this is how tall you are.

Your foot should be the same length as the distance between your ''wrist bone'' and your ''elbow bone''.
Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
