For sure.

Layton is promising me the world in increased pension payments. I should vote for him. I should make sure all you young whippersnappers (thanks for that, CA) get stuck with max tax to cover my care until I die - which I actually was not planning to do as soon as before the next election as I was just told I was gonna do. I'll be sure to demand a private room with my own bathroom, maid service, housekeeping, free taxis and ambulance services, free meds, free gourmet meals (plus snacks 3x daily), free everything - and if you all would just vote that in, I would be so very appreciative!

I figure I'm good for the next 20 years or so on your tax dollar. Please don't skimp with anything, eh? Pay your (increased) taxes happily so I can have my every desire fulfilled and live a life of luxury. I deserve it. I covered your tushes for the past 20-40 years with my taxes. It's MY turn!

I think I'd like free piano lessons, too. Thanks for paying for it for me. I paid for you and your kids for a lot of years already.

Exactly, although I was thinking of working for a few years yet. But what the hell am I doing thinking about the underemployment and poverty in northwestern BC. Hell, the crime that is generated because of that is bound to keep my services in great demand, and after I retire and start collecting my pension I’ll be able to contract my services as a consultant to government. With my public pension, increased CPP benefits and consultant fees I’ll be doing great. I should vote Green.

Yes, please for for Jack, Iggy or whatshername. To hell with your future. Why should I care about anyone but me?

P-L-E-A-S-E vote NDP, Liberal or Green so I can have more and you can pay for it for me. Thank you.

I will finally be able to quit working and being taxed to pay for you and your kids.

Daaaaamn, SL ... you're going to get more than me because YOU had a cushy civil servant job all these years. I demand equality now!!! More for poorer seniors! We need parity with government retirees! This is NOT fair that we couldn't have government jobs in our working years. It's NOT our fault and today's young people should have to pay for that transgression. Tax them more!

I give you 10/10 as well Nab. If I were doing the selfish thing I'd vote for Layton and see my pension payment go up. But I'm far more concerned with the future of my kids and grandkids than a short-term benefit to me.

Oh. A sports car? I don't want a sports car. My taxpayer-funded piano won't fit. I'll ask for a free luxury motorhome instead. But not a bus. Nibs can have the bus.

LOL. Back in "the day" it was a rusty old volkswagon van with flowers painted all over it ;-) Hell, with what is going on now, Trudeau would be proud, rose in his lapel and cravat and all ;-)

No kids? Get busy!!! Sheesh. We're gonna need every penny they make soon to keep up with public demands for hand-outs. Don't be a slacker, eh!

I may not have paid for your salary directly, but I certainly supported capitalism, which is what pays a lot of salaries.

Well, I can buy the non-existent children part, but just where do you think your salary comes from Loed. Outer space or grows on trees somewhere?

To all the youth the poster was aimed at please consider the following has happened in your life time,
Bruce Carsen
Gary goodyear
Bev Oda
38 appointed senators
including Doug Finley, Irving Gerstein
Contempt of parliament
prorogation of parliament
Creationism and the Conservative party
Facebookgate (I made that up but figure it out)
OMG if you paste any line it links you to ........

Really the future is not ours it is the for the kids.
Jails. Jets. No thought to the environment.
The Harper government is the problem not any solution I want in my life.
Really google any of the above and defend it.

Which has very, very little to do with any ONE person is my point.
You're talking about taxes paying for people's livelihood. Maybe SOME people, but I certainly do not sit around waiting on any hand-outs to do what I want to do.

Yes, we have all paid into the economy in some way, shape or form. That's a given. MY salary does NOT come from taxation. Which is what you have been referencing.

I choose not to have kids, as they just create debt. ;)

No, not talking just about taxation Loed. Your "salary" (if you get one) comes from other people in one way or another, no matter what you do.

I know well how an economy works, and of course I receive a freaking salary. No need to start getting condescending here, seriously calm down. Not sure why you feel the need to get slanderous towards me. I'm not being offensive in any manner.

What I was responding to is statements like this in bold from GF.

She was talking about taxes.

Check your attitude at the door please and try to remain civil if you're going to continue responding.

Check your own attitude at the door please Loed. As much as you try to walk a moderate line (to your credit), you still come across to me as someone who blames their (or society's) problems on previous generations, and to me that is just a cop out.

One of the solutions you expressed a hope for earlier on may simply be that the younger generations currently running the show have to step up to the plate and take ownership of what they perceive to be wrong, rather than continually trying to "pass the buck" (as in responsibility) to someone else. I might add that is a very good description of the idiocy has been going on in Paliament among the opposition parties for the past 5 or so years.
