Re: Underweight
BMI, proteins, healthy calories, eating disorder.... Now mutant mass sounds like the answer i was looking for! lol
Thanks for all the input guys. I guess ultimately I just have to face the reality that I gotta EAT and put some strain on the muscles. Like overweight people look for a miracle pill, I'm doin the same thing. Which brings on the other "problem". Im not a fan of the big mainstream gyms. Know of any smaller ones around Kelowna? (I'm new)

If you are cheap like me then I suggest going to the "all you can eat buffets" where getting your money's worth is more important than the food itself.

There is a new one on the corner of KLO and Benvolin.

Re: Underweight
At face value (i.e., without seeing you in person), I wouldn't consider 6'1 and 155lbs to be underweight. I believe many people have a distorted sense of overweight and underweight. From my perspective, there are many people carrying an extra 10 to 15lbs. I am 6'0 and 160lbs (8% body fat). When racing (running and road cycling), I have been down to 152lbs.

Ridiculous.
Suggested weight ranges for a 6'1" male is 180-195 lbs.
He is too lean. The only reason to be that lean is for sport purposes (as you said, running or cycling).
Although personally, I would rather be lean than fat... at least he is active and not sitting in front of World of Warcraft all day.

Hahaha no! Just can't post what I think is a good gym without it being considered an ad, and the castanet forces would take that down.

You're allowed to suggest companies and relate good experiences. You just can't slam them... they are worried about lawsuits from libel/slander.

drink - alcohol is loaded with calories, a glass of wine before a meal stimulates your appetite.

I understand I need to eat more, the problem is I don't get hungry a whole lot, and I do eat when I'm hungry. I LOVE food when I'm hungry.
Well then, if you need to eat more but just aren't hungry, then some might suggest you take up smoking some herb, its sure to give you the munchies!

Beer, Coke, and lots of wings has worked well for me. I also have a rule of eating thing that aren't green. Basically if my food had parents I'll eat it.

Re: Underweight
If you are healthy and your weight is stable, don't worry. Your body probably has a set weight it will always seek to return to, no matter what. I'm like that, I weigh maybe four pounds more at age 55 than I did at 18, and it never varied regardless of how active or slothful I was, and I've been both. I once tried those high-cal, high-protein shakes, put on a few pounds while taking them, then lost it all soon after. Most people think I eat too much. I'm using a pill (for medical reasons) that has a side effect of making people fat. Hasn't affected me. So if you're healthy and the tests all check out, eat well and don't worry about it.
