Wonder who made the call to classify this one as a "spot fire" this morning and not send any resources there to knock it down while it was still small?
Not a fire expert here but sure seems like somebody made a big error.

Must be evacuating everyone at the end of lakeshore i see the cop car in and out of the houses working their way toward town . Or at least warning them to be ready .

Just came from watching it from Gellatly. There ain't no putting this fire out. You can see the trees pretty much exploding. It's growing incredibly fast. So is the one right above Peachland.

In the last hour and a half it has gained about another 200m toward lakeshore road even though it doesnt look that ferocious . In the distance i see the flames are right down to the flashing lights on the highway by brent road .
