Actually more than a few die from the flu each year and not all children are equipped with a strong immune system as you well know.

Here we go again.
Some people are immune compromised.
Look it up if you don't know what that means.
Anyways, so when you get the flu you will be sick but most
likely will survive if your immune system is good.
An immune compromised person will likely be sicker for a longer
period of time and could even die from complications of the flu.
So if you get the flu your then walking around with your flu and your healthy
immune system spreading your flu to others who may not have a healthy immune
system.Hopefully you would have sense and stay home but I have my doubts.
Maybe you never get sick because you are on Castanet all day/night and never go out.
I don't know, just a thought.

And the usual suspects that don't understand science and math show up in the thread to display their ignorance... and as usual don't realize how dumb they sound.

And also as usual, there's no reasoning with them because they would have to admit their lack of understanding (and that's never going to happen), so they instead stay more comfortable living in their happy little bubble where nothing bad can ever hurt them.

It's easier for them to deny reality because they're scared by the truth. They lack the ability or desire to cope with the real world, so have invented their own world controlled by big companies and the government. And they've populated that world with a lot of sheep.

Get your flu shots. There's virtually no risk and a ton of upside. Trust the experts not the crackpots.

Well now I am very confused.

Dr.s says, "Get the shot".
Interior Health says, "Get the shot".
Pharmacists say "Get the shot".

I feel very conflicted about getting this years shot, even though I have been getting one every year, for the last 30-40 years with no problems.

Shall I take the risk again this year? (rhetorical question) hhhhmmmm....I just don't know.
Upon further research, I find,

“Flu is everywhere in the U.S. right now,” Jernigan said, “This is the first year we have had the entire continental U.S. be the same color on the graph, meaning there is widespread activity in all of the continental U.S. at this point.”

The poll also showed 83 per cent of B.C. residents are aware the flu vaccine saves lives, and more adults are convinced that getting the flu shot is a good idea, with 12 per cent of residents who have never previously had a flu shot before planning on getting one this year.

Getting the flu shot to prevent 4 days of pain and suffering and potential hospital visits seems like a much better choice.

Obviously your co-workers need the flu shot if their immune system is compromised (one doesn't get the flu from the shot contrary to your beliefs). You should read the following to better understand who the risk groups are:
