What a woman! In my opinion this was the only election that was to matter because it was a decision on whether or not we are complicit in supporting corruption at the highest level.

That whooshing sound is the point flying right past your head.

There are of course extremely partisan Conservatives who would vote for a child rapist who ran as a conservative over a good decent Liberal, but you don't have to show this level of partisanship.

The reason why her election is so important is that she was dumped for standing up against injustice and entitled corruption. She fought back and won. As I've said before, there are some liberals like Tamara Taggart who forcefully condemned the Liberal party's record on SNC, so voting Liberal is a case-by-case basis in my view, but there's no question JWR deserved to win. I would be saying the exact same thing if she were a Conservative who was dumped for the same reason.

I'm glad that Liberal supporters in her riding are decent enough to agree that this is not right, and voted Independent this time.

I think it's great that Raybould won, she deserved to. I am not sure how she can accomplish much while she's there. But we will see what if anything she can do for her riding.

Not all Liberal supporters were as gracious to JWR as the people in her riding, case in point at last night's Liberal rally in Montreal:

On the opposite side of the ledger of political spite, there was a smattering of boos in the room when former attorney general and former Liberal Jody Wilson-Raybould was declared the winner of her Vancouver Granville riding.
