Vernon is literally a giant *Poop* Hole
When you look at all lakes in Vernon (where a lake is defined by the location of its mouth, giving Okanagan Lake to Penticton), the largest lake in Vernon is an effluent reservoir called the Mackay Reservoir. Yummy! And to think I was going to go dip my toe in the largest 3 lakes in every Okanagan city just for fun. Nope, not doing that.

If you notice, Mackay Reservoir is at a quite high elevation. The tertiary treated waste water is pumped up there and then irrigated onto trees and hay fields in the area called the Commonage. Kelowna's treatment plant is right down near the lake elevation. I wonder where that water goes to?

One thing is for sure. People don't know how to use the word literally.
You don't learn when you are talking. You can only learn while you're listening.
