Yep, the best example is the Russian Cruiser "Moskva". Built in Ukraine, it was great ship for the Russian Navy and served when Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, when Russia invaded Crimea in 2014, in Syria in 2015 and it led the Russian naval assault of Ukraine in 2022... - but admittedly that story didn't end well for the Russians, so we should maybe overlook that last part.
Your logic is faulty, thats like crediting Canada with the minivan just cause its built in Windsor.

I have yet to see any reports of foreign troops massing at any Russian border in preparation of an attack on Russian sovereign soil. In fact I don't believe anyone is seeing a pending or actual attack on Russian soil. They have nukes and would be a stupid thing to do, just as stupid to claim Russia is defending its territory. Russia INVAIDED Ukraine last February, not the other way around.. right?
NATO is a defensive force originally devised to prevent any westward movement by Countries taken over by the communist Russia( Warsaw Pact). Today it is in place for exactly the same reason except Russia is not a communist country anymore, it is run by a deranged autocrat put in place by a corrupt voting system who has openly said that the fall of the wall and collapse of the Soviet Union is the worst thing that has ever happened to Russia. : https://www.rferl.org/a/1058688.html

So Russia is defending it's territory by slamming missiles into apartment blocks in Ukraine? Phttt.
Mazdatruck wrote: May 9th, 2023, 6:55 pm Ukraine does not have a right to threaten Russia.
I agree and Ukraine does not. It's military was pitiful 10 years ago and only after Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014 has Ukraine started training its military with the wests assistance. Action- reaction I guess. It happens.
Mazdatruck wrote: May 9th, 2023, 6:55 pm The US regime changed the government there and they became hostile towards Russia.
I didn't think Americans were allowed to vote in Ukraine. Pretty sure the Ukrainians voted for Zelenski as he ran on an anti corruption platform and leaned to western values, not the corrupt Russian ones as some others wanted. Russia was pizzed they could not get their greedy corrupt hands on Ukraines business's any more so they are having a go by force.
Not working out the way they planned I suspect. One tank and no fly overs in a very important parade kinda tells that story. [icon_lol2.gif]

^^^ Russian Empire then Communism dominated the Ukrainian people for 275+ years. Then in early 1990s former Soviet Union agreed on borders, of numerous countries on the breakup of the USSR (including the territory of Ukraine).

Estonia
Latvia
Lithuania
Belarus
Ukraine
Kazakhstan
Uzbekistan
Turkmenistan
Kyrgyzstan
Tajikistan

People that wanted to remain as Russian citizens could have sold their places in Ukraine and moved back to Russia.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

3.2 km's wide and 2.6 km's deep. Nope, no headlines - no reporting, but not much left of 2 companies of the 72nd Brigade or the 3rd assault detachment of Wagner. What is left of the 72nd seems to be making a glorious advance in a rearward direction.

"NATO exists to manage the threats created by its existence" ... best summary i've found.

Think also
"USA USA said we won the Cold War, yay USA!"
But does Russia think they lost the Cold War? I don't think so. Russia is a great, world historical power. It would do people some good to read history. And no, not WW2 for chrissakes [icon_lol2.gif]

For example - Galicia was part of the Austro Hungarian empire, not Russian.

Exactly, by giving the population in NATO countries the security from Russian attempts to envelope them again and live under the corrupt Russian sphere of influence.

Isn't it amazing the sadistic West is using depleted uranium in Ukraine - so people will suffer for hundreds of years. The suffering of Ukrainians is proportional to the constipated facial expressions Freeland makes when looking at Hillary. Big.
Children born in Serbia between 1999 and 2015 were exposed to a toxic factor making them vulnerable to malignant diseases according to research by the Commission for investigating the consequences of 1999 NATO air campaign against the then Yugoslavia, the Beta news agency. The possible effects of the depleted uranium ammunition became a hot issue in Serbia with tabloid media publishing analysis confirming the link of an increase in cancer cases to the bombing.

I never saw a happier Ukrainian discuss half a million dead Ukrainians in my life. Her name - Freeland - isn't Ukrainian, I can tell you that.

Likely more than 100K dead in Ukraine, some are women and children from direct missile attacks from Russia. Many are dead Russians fighting for what exactly? Many dead Ukrainian men defending their country from Russian aggression.
Mazdatruck wrote: May 10th, 2023, 8:07 am and the country is in ruins because Ukraine wanted to point a NATO gun at Russia.
Nope, Ukraine did not point a gun at Russia. Russia and Ukraine signed a non-aggression agreement where each would respect the borders and not invade each other for Ukraine giving up the nuclear weapons located in their country. In typical Russian fashion, they lied and annexed Crimea in 2014 so Ukraine finally figured the Russians are lying sacks of excrement and prepared for what may come next. That included military training by western forces.
Ukraine wanted and still wants to join the EU and that pizzes the Russians off and although Ukraine may want to join NATO, I really doubt there would be collective NATO support for that, so joining NATO is a non starter and non argument.

What in hell's name has Hunter Biden got to do with Poo-tin wanting Ukraine under its sphere of influence again?
Some "tankies" here apparently claim Russia invaded Ukraine because of corruption and to de-nazify Ukraine.

So what is it?
