Commemorative Airforce B-25 Mitchel bomber in Penticton
First off, I'm saddened by the B-17 and P-63 crash at Dallas. It didn't take long for copycat youtubers to post trash videos so this one (not the best) was already hard to find out of the noise of garbage since posted to Youtube.
These aircraft (both) belonged to the Commemorative Airforce (USA).
They visited Penticton with a restored B-25 Mitchell bomber in 2007. I went down to see it with my house-mate Bob.
My good friend Bob passed away in April. His brother (also my house-mate) asked me to go through Bob's Mac computer to find all of his pictures or anything else that might be a memorable legacy before Bob's old Mac machine was recycled. I did that and came up with a treasure trove of pictures and other media that I copied and backed up twice on my Windows machines.
While browsing Bob's stuff on a backup I realized he took many pretty high quality pictures of our visit to Penticton to see the B-25. Bob would have wanted to share these and here are a few.
Click on the pictures for full screen and click again for even more detail.
This is a shot of "Maid in the Shade", a B-25 bomber that visited Penticton airport in 2007.
Closer up; the .50 calibre machine guns in the nose.
A partial closeup of the Wright 2600 R-2600 Twin Cyclone engines.
Bob shot many more pictures of this warbird including it's interior (with disarmed bombs) and landing gear shots.
If there's further interest in this thread, I have more pictures to post.

I love these old planes.
Wasn't there a de Havilland Mosquito bomber in Kelowna a year or two ago?
Not too long ago I toured the air museum in Palm Springs. It sent chills down my back seeing the planes on display.

I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.
I also give thanks for this ethos richness bestowed on us via British Colonialism.

A few more pictures then... Click and click again on pics to get highest resolution.
That's me on the right. I didn't even know Bob took this picture. I'm totally fascinated by the engine there. The B-25 had landed shortly before we arrived at the airport. At this point the engines were still hot and leaking a little oil which you could smell. They stuffed rags into the engines at various spots to absorb the oil, one of which is visible in mid picture.
Cool frontal view of the engine and propeller hub. If you blow this pic up you see (on the tip of the hub) the fish eye reflection of people down below taking pictures
I don't know how Bob got this close up shot of the engine plate. He had to have his camera between the propeller on the left and the engine mass on the right. Again you can blow this up by double clicking on the image and then read what's on the plate.
This is the Wright R-2600 Twin Cyclone 14 cylinder engine from wikipedia (not our picture):

And a link here to the engine description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_R- ... in_Cyclone
