Of the current 43 votes here, the combined votes for "made it better" and "had no impact" are only 35%.

35% is below the 50% threshold.

And almost everyone on here who voted against Basran are looking at a confirmation bias. The people most likely to respond to this little vote are people already looking at the world through a predisposed bias. Every hear of confirmation bias and why polls are so unreliable?

Of course, there is more to this story. With no trial, there will always be more to this story.

That is why my original post stated there is a problem with our legal system where the media can post all sorts of information, mainly the accused name, prior to any legal system being implemented.
Unfortunately, there are some respondents in this thread (not pointed at you specifically) who lack the critical thinking skills to understand a question of the process is not support for the accused.

The fact the media can crucify the accused when the accuser can make accusations with very little information and zero accountability, should be questioned. The laws in our country dictate we are innocent until proven guilty, but its OK to destroy a person’s life through the media before that process occurs.

I am questioning the process, not defending the accused.

Mr Basran was “a developer’s mayor.* I do not believe that he ever saw a large development he did not like or support. This left many citizens and neighbourhoods wondering what was the value of an OCP.

I give him a solid A as mayor. Like it or not, Kelowna is growing rapidly and people have to live somewhere. What's the alternative? Restrict people from living here? (anathema to democracy), or grow the community out into agricultural lands? I've never understood why people don't get this.
