raft-cove wrote: Nov 29th, 2022, 11:49 am A passing grade would be 50% or more vote that Kelowna has improved or remained the same.

Of the current 43 votes here, the combined votes for "made it better" and "had no impact" are only 35%.

35% is below the 50% threshold.

FAIL.
And almost everyone on here who voted against Basran are looking at a confirmation bias. The people most likely to respond to this little vote are people already looking at the world through a predisposed bias. Every hear of confirmation bias and why polls are so unreliable?

Believer In Numbers Thanks.

Basran supporters have all gone silent.

Why is that?? Not proud of their false idols anymore?

Too embarrassing to admit being wrong?

There are too many unknowns to make such a statement.

We likely will never know what occurred.

Of course, there is more to this story. With no trial, there will always be more to this story.

That is why my original post stated there is a problem with our legal system where the media can post all sorts of information, mainly the accused name, prior to any legal system being implemented.
Unfortunately, there are some respondents in this thread (not pointed at you specifically) who lack the critical thinking skills to understand a question of the process is not support for the accused.

The fact the media can crucify the accused when the accuser can make accusations with very little information and zero accountability, should be questioned. The laws in our country dictate we are innocent until proven guilty, but its OK to destroy a person’s life through the media before that process occurs.

I am questioning the process, not defending the accused.

Funny that all the Liberal $cience promoters cheering on Basran disappeared after news of his alleged wrongdoing while working as City Mayor.

Why is that?

This https://www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna/4 ... nup#454243
Is the aftermath of Basran for Rutland. Who would have guessed that something like this would happen after putting the three homeless shelters in what was a nice neighborhood.

25 sacks of trash.

24 after it was found Basran was hiding in one of them.

What I'd like to know is what happened to all the Basran cheerleaders around here??

Pink shirts, Pro Vaxx, 15x boosted, Triple Masked sycophants.

Did they all get Covid and die?

Anti-bullying day just around the corner...

Who is celebrating with their Hero, Basran?

Image

Wasn't long ago that many Castednetters were singing high praises of the Hometown hero.

Where did all his supporters go?

Funny thing about anonymous forums, the loudest experts seem to vanish when proven wrong. Zero accountability and not brave enough to admit their error. [icon_lol2.gif]

Sorry Raft but Basran is old news, washed up and out.
Regardless of who "wins" an election, they always are up against a Silent Elite. Do you believe the extreme poor who voted for Trump ever thought their non-profit support would be slashed right out from under them?

I give him a solid A as mayor. Like it or not, Kelowna is growing rapidly and people have to live somewhere. What's the alternative? Restrict people from living here? (anathema to democracy), or grow the community out into agricultural lands? I've never understood why people don't get this.

Good question.

Where did all the promotional praise go?

Pink shirt day only a month away.

Doesn't wearing one make us impervious to judgement?

People were cheering on Basran for vaccine mandates and shuttering businesses.

Where'd all the loud supporters go?

Doesn't wearing a pink shirt make Basran a big-time community, political role model?

LittleBoy wrote: Jan 24th, 2023, 11:58 am Time for all the Basran haters / Castanet hate speakers to come out from under your rocks and start to reminisce about how you all knew this was going to happen and how if only people would've listened to you about how terrible Mr. Basran was we all would have submitted to your vitriol. There are about 8-10 trolls on this site that constantly complain, spit hate and never, ever, ever offer a solution. You are the trolls and this will undoubtedly make your pathetic day better. I pity you, as I see you all jumping on the hateful bandwagon of disparaging the young woman who was accused of fighting at the Steve-O show. You are the problem, look in the mirror and keep your hate to yourself.
